Winter at Westminster

I just got accepted into Westminster for the next semester.  Now, I have a dilema at hand.  I am given a pass at the Canyons, but I have to choose between alta and snowbird as my second pass.  What do all you guys think I should do? I really want to hit the backcountry hard this year because I live in Ohio and don't get to ski that much too often.  Which has the more challenging terrain/ better snow/ better atmosphere/ etc.?

great idea! two awsome resorts... plus its a killer school lots of skiiers im sittin in a class here right now hahaha you will love it

Alta, other people in the program will get bird passes(snowboarders) and once in a while you can borrow their pass. Also you go to every resort at least once. I went last year, W@W is sooo sick, message me if you have any questions.

I don't understand the percs of winter at westminster, you could in theory do the same thing at the U couldn't you?

W@W is basically a study abroad alternative(you go for a semester to SLC) You can also do it if you go to Westminster. Every friday(and/or saturday) there are activities with the W@W program. These include but are not limited to... Snowmobiling, backcountry skiing, ski jumping/other activities at the utah winter sports park, early access to mountains, a backcountry yurt camping trip, and days at almost every ski resort. The program directors have connections with everyone in the ski industry in Utah and can hook you up with any internship imaginable.

I got accepted there but didn't go because it is about 6 times the cost of the University I am at now( SWGc at MUN in Newfoundland), and I didn't want to ship myself all the way to Utah.

If you have decent grades you can get scholarships that pay for the entire program. The college tuition at westminister is pretty pricey though.
