Winged Bindings

Are the bindings with the winds on them better for freestyle? If so, why? Do they release easier or what? I have them on my scratches cause the guy at the shop told me that you should have them if you do jumps, but they also cost more. ( Or at least the ones I got where more than the ones I was gonna get before those)

Ive never heard of it...

yeah like on the salomon toe pieces, they have the v shape to them. The guy at the ski shop told me its better for jumps and stuff, cuz the guy who mounted them does jumps himself.

what? winged? pretty much all toe peices are the same. find a picture and post it of what you're talking about

well i thnink the shop guys logic is that the 'wings' will keep you in longer letting you land more sketch stuff maybe. but i don't think it matters cuz its gonna be based on the springs and din inside the toe peice that determines movement. i think its mainly just design for looks. I'd perfer the smallest that holds the best (LOOK) for less weight

The high end Salomon toe piece just functions a little better than the cheaper ones. It also provides better retention than the cheap ones. THe cheap one is ment for beginners and intermediates and realeases easier. So if you care about prereleasing you should go with the winged toe piece.

^^and about the weight. the salomon bindings weigh less than the look bindings. even though they're bigger. my s810's are like 850grams each compared to 1400grams each for the looks.

my level of radness... it just can't... be quantified.

i rock the s810s, and they suck, plain and simple. like i said before, they prerelease like its their job to, and at the most inopportune of times. who cares what features they have...they dont get the job done in the park.

I don't condone this.

yea, the s912 ti's don't release vertically from the toe, so it will definitely help you pull out those sketch landings
