Hey NS,I really want to go to Windells Academy, but it's on the other side of the country and it's really expensive. I was wondering if anyone know of another place like it?

you dont need to go to an all year sxhool. wki hard during the winter, talk to other skiers, learn tricks by talking to people then in the summer go to Camp Woodward at Copper to learn new tricks for the next season. Camp Woodward is cheaper than windells and WAYYYYYY better.
 
I mean if it's a good chance that you have the potential to become a professional skier and you have the money then why not?
 
Mount Snow academy in vermont

You go for the winter term Nov to early april. usually 2nd and 3rd quarters depending on ur schools system, and ski 6 days a week and its basiclly an awesome experiance. We hit urban do comps film and just have an awesome time. PM me if you want more details.

school from i think 7-12 everyday then sskiing frm like 1-4 ski full day weekends
 
Yup^^^ and we got Richie Paradise as our coach. For anyone whos seen wicked you know why thats a good thing. Real chill guy always down to film and still shreads super hard.
 
Windells is putting the finishing touches on its park today, the academy students will be skiing the first on snow park in North America tomorrow, along with Tom W., Sammy C, Kerry just to name a few.
 
Carrabassett Valley Academy (CVA) up in sugarloaf has a sick freeride program, they've got this building right next to school with tramps and a skatepark you can use all the time too.http://www.gocva.com/default.aspx
Also, not many people know that NSA and Northwood School here in Lake Placid NY have freeride programs too, plus being right in placid we get training time all fall after school on the water ramps, then after the world cup event in the winter we get to build whatever jumps we want on the arial hill. Whiteface doesnt have the best park, but it's pretty good and we're constantly traveling around to other areas too. The coach is Justin Perry (films for meatheads). NSA is more of a sports-oriented school, where Northwood is more of a private school. I went to northwood for 2 years before dipping out to do online school
 
tramps, foam pits, air bags, dry slopes, ropes courses, Nike training center and nature snow park, in fact the only snow park in North America today and for at least the next 2 1/2 months is pretty damn progressive. I don't believe their is another Academy that has anything close?
 
This. Im from Hood, so i see those kids trollin around semi frequently, and honestly... they arent good. If your paying that much money to ski park 24/7, a part time (now ex) racer shouldnt be comparable to you. and not to brag, but thats definetly how it is.

Finish High School, take a year or two off and ski bum in Utah before headin to college.
 
If academy kids are winning the Dumont Cup, placing in the top 3 of the Dew Tour, Grand pre's and North Face events are not that good, then perhaps Windells students being invited to the X-games is not good enough either? WTF, you may be local but your out of touch.
 
Bro that is 1 person, who frankly would likely have done those things regardless if he went to windells academy or not. Also I believe geopper doesn't even pay tuition to go there, he has a full ride. Your high school costs almost tripple what my college tuition is a year, no way in hell that is worth even if you get to ski everyday.
 
One guy. If you see the kids who ride there full time (aren't traveling around the country during winter) you would see what i mean. Dont speak of what you do not know.
 
Thats how i felt about windells kids when i went in the summer. I now know why windells/hcsc dont have many campers in their videos. Not hating just saying.
 
Your going against your own saying, You have no clue what any of the kids at the academy do and what they have accomplished. Bit hypocritical don't you think?
