Windells 2010 who's going?

I went to windells for my first time last year, it was by far one of the most amazing experiences I have had. I went to session 2 and we had bad weather during the majority of the camp; so we only got to ski 4 out of 6 days (one of days was a absolute wreck weather wise, 10 ft visibility). But even with all these problems it was still worth the $ spent.

The Skiing itself is not worth 2k; you could use that money and have a much better trip (ski quality wise and quantity) during the winter. However the camp atmosphere makes up for it; skiing and being coached by skiers who you have idolized for years is a priceless experience.

However this upcoming summer i am probably just going to get a condo out there with friends and just ski the park; which should be cheaper then the camp. So pretty much I think if its your first time going out there its worth the money. But now since i have already had the "camp experience" i don't think its worth another 2k.

Just my 2 cents. Also the best time to go I think is session 3+, the weather is generally better and they will have a lot more features out. Also I was 19 when I went to Windells and if your 18+ you stay at the "adult camp" which is pretty much a separate dorm that is located slightly off the main campus. You have a lot more freedom and do different (better) activities then everyone else when your not skiing. So you dont have "to hang out with 13-14 year olds".

I went this summer sesh 5, it was so much fun. I dont think which session you go to matters, but if you go to one of the first ones like 1-3 then there will be tons of snow compared to the last sessions. At sesh 5 there was a good amount of snow but it was definately going away pretty fast. Maybe because it was 90 something degrees on the mt almost everyday lol . bring clothes that you would ski in and not get too hot, like tall tees and sunglasses and def sunscreen

im there for sure, not in windells unless i work for them but i'll be up there all summer, maddd stoked on it!! see you all there.

im pretty sure im going. if i go, what session should i go to? im thinking in summer and does anyone know when Tom Walisch is going cuz thatd be sick

gonna go session 3 and 4 cuz I got hooked up fat with a life guarding job that makes $5,000 the whole summer and my parents are gonna pay for one of the sessions.

and to people arguing that they would rather go to alaska or SASS or go somewhere during the winter with their money. Theres no way parents would let their kids go across the country by themselves and stay by themselves for 7+ days to ride out west or somewhere. Theres no way I could go to alaska, and the plane tickets to alaska or SASS would be nearly as expensive as a session to windells For almost all people when they go on a trip during the winter they go with their family and their parents pay for it.

holy fuck, 2 grand is a lot. I had no idea it was that much. In Europe it is about $400 for a fairly decent camp. Fair dues there aren’t any of the top names coaching (well in skiing at least) but still that’s not really necessary. And as a bonus you will be able to drink in Europe when you can’t (legally) in the US.

Does anybody know how much it will cost to ski the public park for a week at hood or any other glaciers in the US. Karma for answers.

My bro and his two friends are going. I'm gonna be working, but no complaints, I am 3 years older than them.

To all the people saying "I don't wanna pay $2,000 to ski," Windells is prob more than just skiing (haven't been so I can't really know for sure) it's the full camp experience. With your logic, I could say, I don't wanna pay 2k to chill with a bunch of cool kids at a normal summer camp. Plus, talking about the ski season. Do you really think you could live for 2 ski seasons on only $2,000. You have to buy food, pay for lodging, etc. Honestly, stop hating on it, and stop acting like you have so many better things to do. It's perfectly fine to want to ski in the summer. If you're really dedicated to skiing and love it, then why would you rather be on a beach than on a hill skiing.

Also, for most kids 13-17, going to South America or Switzerland for the summer is not practical. I don't know many parents who would let their kids wander around in Chile, Argentina, or Switzerland unsupervised.

Use your head a little before you bash something.

funny story my dad had brain sugary and we lost over 50,000 this year cuz he didn't work. so all that $$ went to the bills i will not be going this year or probably ever

im probably gonna delve into my trust fund and buy a summer pass and try to go to windells

well said, i will probably be coming back this year and its not that your just paying 2000$ to ski for a week. you get to have so much fun on campus doing contest, and tons of other fun sports. they give out soo much free stuff after skiing the schedule is so jam packed i never had nothing to do. its so fun and so worth it

thanks but in my d fence i did with a trip out to keystone for free after i wrote in that story so i guess it's ok

i wish i could go back again this summer. too bad i have work on a damn farm, and need the money for college.
saving up for last year was sooo worth it, i hope you all have as much fun as i did.
