Wind Noise Reduction

I searchbarred, but couldn't find anything that seemed related, although its possible i completely missed something.

Does anyone have a simple answer to wind noise reduction for stock mics? Otherwise every single one of my follow cam's has that obnoxious blowout noise. I use and HV20 for reference, and ive heard that taping a small piece of a cotton ball over the mic, or even a little piece of scotch tape will do the trick?

Any suggestions?

im pretty sure theres a way you can mute the internal mic, ive seen it before on some cams

if you need a mic, then just get a good external one and get one of those fur-like covers

A cheap solution would be to duct tape foam over the mic making sure not to cover the microphone with the tape just border it.
