Will tanner lose it in the comps?

i was thinking about this yesterday. he lost to gargnier(sp) in slope at the US open and the x games. Dumont has completely taken over the pipe. Now with this injury, do you guys think hes not going to dominate like he used to?

well he loses a whole summer of training/progressing, so im assuming he wont be doing much next year.. he might even take a year off competing

tanner wont win everything because no one can do that but he wont lose everything. if he keeps his attitude up he will lose everyones respect tho.

Im still a Huge fan of Jon's bronze medal pip run, that was so progressive it was sick. To dominate all thos evariations at a decnt amplitude is crazy. Like dumont went big which was shwate, but he threw down only on one wall... not so shwate.

THall tho,... I dunno what he should do, i dont wanna see him slowly lose podium spots over the years which is inevitable for any athlete, but on the other hand i Dont wanna Not see him compete, cause hes the shit of course. hmm, im kinda speechless/idealess, have to wait it out i guess.

no...i dont think it is...he got ripped off at the x-games...the judging has been horrible this year

i think most of you underestimate tanner... look at all the years he haas change our sport... from flat 3s- cork 3s, sw rodeo 7s, sw 5 double grabs and ill 9s in the pipe.... he might not even do comps any more... (i hope he does) he might just film and bring you the most insane seg ever... u cant really say what tanner will do he always as somethin up his sleave it seems... so look out and dont under estimate a vet who could come back woth more fire and kill ever1 in comps..

Its different now than it was just 2 years ago. Theres so many new guys that just show up out of no where and throw down. The scenes crazy now and i dont think anyone(although tanner would have the best chance of this) can dominate all the comps out there.

I ski at the crappiest hill ever...

 
^ good point, a lot of people dont like tanner because of his personality, but he is probably the most purely talented skiier out there. But people such gagnier, rainville, and vanular make me wonder how much longer tanner can be a dominant comp figure. Oh and by the way whoever sed vanular will take over the pipe, not gunna happen. Dumont will always win purely because of his strength and amplitutde.

i think he will come back but the competition is deffinately gettin stiffer he just needs to better prepare himself for when he has to face off against the big guns like gagnier

Loic Collomb Patton will win pipe he is hands down the best pipe skier in the world, his run to win the qualifer at wsi was easily the best technical pipe run ever. Look out this kids gonna blow minds he just gotta stop smoking so many blunts after his runs.

im kind of indifferent to tanner jus becasue i don't want to "jump on the bandwagon" and i'm a bigger candide fan...but are you guys serious...tanner is going to come back and be better than ever, anybody expectign anythign else is just being stupid.

tanner has proven himself on every occasion, why would this be any different?

I love how everyone is making out like he broke his back or fractured his tibia.

He cracked his heels people, its not a career ruining injury, if anything hes gonna be hungrier than ever next season after losing the x games and sitting out after this injury. with the kind of person tanner is, this will only motivate him and when he's motivated hes unstoppable.

i dont say much on this site, but r u kidding me .. tanner... out, no way he will come back soo strong, the reason tanner is so good is because he is always ahead of people but he doesnt bust out his new tricks untill easily a year after he learns it. this is because he perfects it to such a high level, no one can touch him (except jon and ganier). at the very begening of last season I saw him busting fat switch rightside cork 9's, but never say him thro it in a comp. he will be back and he will kill it.

Then again he got hurt just as this new rise of incredible young talent was coming up.

Kind of a bad time to be out for a season and a half.

i think turpin dominates pipe whether judges recognise it or not his switch prowess is what dreams are made of and is totally taking halfpipe skiing in a new and right direction.

As for tanner c'mon man he is tanner he owns all and thats that personally i think he deserved to win x games purely on the fact he didnt do a 1 footer but hey the judges must know that going toward the sport of rollerblading is where we should be going its the hot new thing loved by all cultures and athletes in all sports yay rollerbalding. Tanner wil be back and will be back with a vengence he will be back on skis within a month and progressing our lovely sport in a way only tanner can.

dumont's isn't going to dominate, crichton has been injured otherwise dumont has competition, crichton would have won the other year if his ski didn't come off when he laid down that 10

tanner was already loosing it in comps before his injuries. he will make a come back but hes going to suck compared to what he used to be. i mean maybe his sucking will be good for him

The kid is 21, hes got alota time left. He might not dominate next year, but his motivation will prolly drive him to make a comback in the following season. As for comps, i doubt hes done with em.

i highly dought that tanner will stop competing, cuz at X. he said he lived for the 60secondes that he rips that course. So id this is true, he wont. None the less, hes an incrediable athelet and he deserbes respect. too bad hes a stonner

sure, he won a couple of times, but the media popped it all up, and turned him into this crazy dude that he isnt...winning is about how you do that day. Every single pro skier has what it takes to win, it just depends if he's able to perform to capacity on the right days.

what? don't you think it is more than a coinsidense that on all of the competition days he is able to perform better than everyone else? the fact is that he can perfrom under pressure

thats tough to compete against a guy that boosts 20+ out a the pipe, but he is pretty sick, plus he is younger so he has an advantage there

if it were easier it would be called snowboarding
