Will my Volkl Dogens hold up in CO & UT?

Right now I only have one pair of skis ('06-'07 Volkl Dogens) and theyre mad skinny.... I scheduled a trip to UT and CO over Xmas Break and im weary of these planks slowing me down, especially if they get hit hard with some pow... I don't think it would wise to invest in powder or generally wider skis seeing that I just bought these last season, any suggestions?
 
like all the other peoples have said, demo them shits. just make sure you get to the shop before theyre all out.
 
You could demo a pair or you could just ski your dogens, there like 81 underfoot which is definitely fine to ski although a pow board would probably be best. Last winter when I had time in between lessons and didn’t want to change skis I would ski a slalom ski with a waist in the mid 60’s in knee deep pow and I was fine.
 
an 81 waist will give you enough float in pow. your probably not gonna have much trouble unless your really charging
 
Well, if people 15 years ago ripped alta top to bottom faster than most of us ever will, on 210 straight skis that were 75 underfoot, I bet your Dogens will work. Aside from cross country skis, there really aren't many skis that don't "work". Sure some rip harder than others, but you'll be fine. If it dumps, rent some skis.
 
yea i didnt even think about demoing fat skis, im probably not gonna want to waist any time at a shop but if there is a powder day i think i might regret not having them... so I guess I'll just go by the weather forecast, if iz gonna be deep I'll demo and if not you guys gave me some faith in my dogens
 
me and my cousin went to pc on a pow day and he didn't bring his prophet 100's instead he brought his tnk's. lets just say he had more fun on ice than pow.
 
ya dude im in the same boat pretty much, im goin out to montana and CO over winter break for about a month and im only taking some 177 STL's

in montana im just gonna find a place that demos fatties for powder days, and in CO i figure if i see a big day coming in advance ill just take my gf's truck into boulder and get jibij to hook me up with some fat twins. thats really all you need to do about it.
