hey guys.

So I'm going to Holiday valley in a week, but yesterday I went for my first 720 and landed with my weight backwards and shinbanged my shin. Will it heal by this sunday?

Also do Full Tilts really prevent shinbang?

put ice on your shins as soon as you get home from skiing or when they hurt.

and no, full tilts don't do anything for your shins. get the proper boots that fits and try not to land backseat.

I'm gonna get in here and jack this thread.

I have boot that fit.

I've been skiing on them for 2 years and never had a problem however this weekend I skied 3 days straight and now it feels brutal.(shin and toe bangs)I don't recall doing anything really out of the ordinary that could have caused this. I don't think they are too small but I tight them quite a bit.Can that be it ?

Boot Tightness actually prevent shinbang by minimizing the free space around the shin. But, if your shins are banged, tightening your boots will make it worse.

It is normal that your shins will hurt after 3 days of riding, but I would not consider that shinbang. You dont really need to take backseaters to bang; simply doing groomers in a back position will trigger shinbang.

I suggest checking your stance on skis and try to take every second or third day a relax day. People swear by ice, but I found it does nothing to help.

So having your boots tighter prevents shinbang? i was just wondering because i have FT and the looser they are the flexier they are (duh) so i was thinking looser less? but then there is space between my shin and tongue

Your logic is flawed... in short, tighten the fuck out of your boots and it will minimize shinbang. If you want flexier boots, get a different tongue or ski harder.
