i have acquired a talent over the years and that talent is bending FKS brakes. i understand that is one of the biggest downsides of these bindings and it deters people from buying turntables...but, have no fear. If you pay me a very small amount (generally just shipping costs), I will bend your brakes for you. I have some pics of brakes I've bent if you want, or people here can vouch for me. I also have an extensive feedback, so if you weed out the useless posts (cough spencer cough) then you can see what people have said

The reason I charge a bit is because the only vise I've found that works well for bending brakes unfortunately is not very strong, and I've broken several already. So, if I will be bending a lot of pairs, I will need some cash to buy a new vise if mine breaks. The prices should be relatively low and I don't wanna lose money off shipping and everything. Prices are negotiable if you think they're too high, but generally I'm just having you cover shipping + give me like $5 to add to the vise piggy bank

So, logistics:

-I can meet you in person at any mountain in southern/central VT. Generally what I do here is bend the brakes off a set I have, give you the bent ones, and you give me the unbent and that limits it to only one meet-up. So, that's option 1 and I'll charge like $5-10

-If you DO NOT know how to take apart heels, you can ship me the heels via USPS flat rate box (cheapest method, $10.35) and I will take apart and bend the brakes for you and return the heels. You will paypal me $15 to cover return shipping and the cost of bending the brakes

-If you DO know how to take the brakes out and put the heels back together, you should be able to fit the brakes in a small envelope and send them for very little money. Let me know how much it cost to ship them, and I will have you cover the shipping costs + $5

-If you are in CANADA, PM me and we can talk. USPS just lost a pair of bindings I sent to Canada so I'm a bit skeptical, but we can still work it out but shipping costs will be a bit higher

**DISCLAIMER**

Shit happens, if your brakes are really old and the metal is super brittle, there is a high chance they will break. I cannot control this at all. My method is very smooth and does not put much stress on the metal, but super old brakes are very prone to breaking, especially with thin metal like turntable brakes. If you send me a pair that I think will break during bending, I will let you know and ask if you still want to proceed, but in that case I will not be responsible for them. In the rare occasion that your brakes do break, I will do my best to get you new ones but they are pretty difficult to replace, so I cannot instantly return new ones to you unless I pull a set off a pair of bindings I have in my stockpile. Not to scare you, but just a heads up that shit does, in fact, happen

pivot brakes are the only ones i can't bend...i still can't figure out how to fucking get them in the vise. they're such a bitch
 
god damit, i bought a pair of turnables, couldn't fit them on my skis and had to get griffons, and now have a pair lying around untouched. PM me dood
 
so i bought some axial pros, but they have demo sliders on the bottom, is there any way to seperate them?
 
alex is legit but i think people should know that a lot of shops will do it for around 10 bucks. when in doubt ask. good luck nosteeze

also shops are generally very bad at bending these if they can even do it. very few shop techs actually know how to take these apart and bend them the proper way, so you'll end up with something done pretty poorly
 
haha i got your name from vimeo and i even have your cell number from mrstskier. lol but yea so far my brakes seem to be holding up pretty well and the shop only charged 50 bucks for a bend and mount which i think is pretty good. everyone support alex

i bent some pivot brakes for one of the guys that work at my shop, probably the hardest break to get into a vice in a way to bend it. this is a good deal, if someone wants this done at my shop its 50 dollars for the mount and break bending.
