Will 2.5cm really effect my groomer cruises?

I am having trouble deciding where to mount my new AR6's. While I enjoy dabbling in the park, I really like to hit the groomers/trees/east coast pow(lol). I was thinking of mounting -2.5 from true center but how much will it really effect my all mountain skiing?

I would mount at recommended

Armada's recommended point is further forward than most other companies and gives you a good mix between park performance and still having the ability to ski everywhere else, including hard groomed snow.

yeah i mounted mine at recommended because i was just starting park and do a lot of all mountain skiing and though its not ideal for switchups on rails overall its very solid for park and even better all mountain

from my experience, having a center mount will take a couple days to get used to but then you will be able to ski anywhere. its not that big of a difference. my old skis were 2 clicks of center and they did me fine. so either way you go you will get used to it and be able to ski anywhere

what is armada's 'recommended' placement? i just picked up some 07/08 ar6's and was wondering where i should mount them. are they supposed to be mounted center?

On my ar6's there are two lines, one that says "-5 (recommended)" and then a second line with "-2.5". So I guess their recommended position is -5 from true center.

what year ar6 do you have? mine has the markings for -2.5/5 but neither say 'recommended'. i would assume that this -5 mounting point would be for all models of the ar6?

i used to care where my skis were mounted, then I center mounted a pair. It doesn't effect your groomer performance that much, plus it makes jibbing out of the park much easier. try center mount, you'll want to spin everywhere

yea i got the 2009 AR6s and i mounted them -5 at recomended i love it cuz im just starting park and i like to mess round on groomers.

I raced as the second fastest in my age group at sunapee on center mounted volkl ledges

so no, I wouldn't say it makes a difference

i could be wrong, but isn't ledges a symmetrical ski? cause then you would have your bindings mounted reccomended

For the poster, around -2.5 sounds perfect, if I understand correctly then you're not exactly all about park, and like to ski elsewhere too. Hence a little further back will be fine. If anyone says a centermount won't affect your all mountain skiing then they're wrong. Thats a fact. And keep in mind, 2.5 cm really isn't all that much. Having them back a little will not really affect your park skiing much.

I say go -2.5.

x2. 2 or 3 back will be perfect. since your just dabbling in park you wont notice the switch performance that much
