Will 184 Bibbys work?

I want to get the 184 Moment Bibby Pros, and was wondering how these would work for me. I'm 5'11" and weigh 140 lbs. I would class myself as a low advanced skier, who can do all black diamonds, etc. I want this ski to be able to ski trees as well as bust crud, but i am mostly concerned these will be hard for me in the trees. Any input?
 
You'll be fine, especially if it's your first big ski. It'll give you something to learn on. The rocker will make them run shorter. But for a ski like that, it's length will benefit you
 
@rudager: yes, what i was thinking. this will cause me to grow, hopefully.

@isak: no, i won't be doing much switch. i don't want the 186 charging version though, to stiff and chargy. I also like the rear rocker on the 184 for slarving, etc.
 
Those skis will be perfect for what you want. I know a kid who is your size and just got the 184s as his first pow ski, he loves them. And his skiing has improved so much already
 
I was going to say you could go for some 191 Billy goats. Those things have somewhat of a pintail so they'll be excellent slaving around and in tight places, but probably more stable than a 184 bibby due to the added length. Or you could go with something like a tiger shark or belafonte. If you won't be skiing backwards, you should get something that's optimized for skiing forwards. Maybe a 179 pontoon. They measure to around 184 so they'd be perfect. Although I'm your height and I'd go 189 pontoon, 190 bibby, or 191 bg or something along those lines. Keep in mind the pontoon would be a lot more pure pow oriented, but so much more fun when it's waist deep. Do some research. Shouldn't be that hard to find something along those lines. Ooooh just thought of something. Look at the dps wailer 112 rp.
 
isak, have you skied the dps 112rp? that is the other ski i would want to get. if you could compare it to the bibby pro, that would be ideal. I'm assuming from the research i've done on these that they are way turnier, but don't go through chop as well as the bibbys. they also carve better, i think, but am not sure. thanks.
 
I haven't skied them, just heard fantastic things about them. Also you could slap some dynafits, plums, or even like an mfd plate on the pures and have quite a light touring setup if you're into that kind of thing.
