Why?...

...Does the United States feel it necessary to attempt to control the world though scare tactics and what is practically "bullying". I say let Iran have a nuclear research program, sure Mahmoud Ahmadineja (yeah I had to look up the correct spelling on that one) is a lunatic however I feel he knows his place and that he would have the sensibility not to even comprehend attacking any western nations. As for the middle east, sheesh that's their problem unfortunately thats what "radical islam" does to people. But please The United States government we don't need another Iraq you already fucked up there...

anyway...thoughts?

You realize he's openly pledged the destruction of Israel on a few occasions right.

Also, the entire balance of world peace at the moment hinges on the fact that no one has to take despotic regimes particularly seriously at the moment because none of them posses nukes. We live in an odd time where having a single weapon makes armies completely obsolete.

But yeah, I find it hilarious that about the same bullshit is going on in this run-up as there was before Iraq. A bunch of the same media and political personalities are spouting the same shit. "It'll be quick, we'll crush their government and be able to move our forces out in months. We swear guys."

We won't actually end up invading Iran though.

Sorry, it's early and my grammar sucks.

Double post because I wanted to point out that you called radical Islam bad and then said you'd be fine with radical Islam's poster child national government possessing nukes a few sentences apart.

Well i live in the middle east, and i see everything from a completely different perpective from all you guys who only see what happenes from the media or from people who have visited here before, and i could have a huge rant about why the USA and alot of the steriotype media loving americans are sooo wrong with what they are doing, but im not going to, i wont start any fights for no reason just like bush, i am sorry.

Im in iran alot, know alot of people from iraq and have been on the border of iraq before, my dad served in the first iraq war and know many people serving their now. One of his closet friends, a british tornado pilot, got shot dwon in iraq, not not by iraqis, but by americans mistaking them for a different aircraft.

what was the point of this last part of your post? to leave a bad taste in everyones mouth? to make it seem like the US takes no regards and will blow anything up?

i agree with the thread creator. its not really our place to decide who gets nuke research programs and who doesnt.

turn the tables

if "X country" invaded us and told us we dont deserve to have a military research program of any kind, we would most likely not go down without a fight.

I agree with the thread creator, War in Iran is a very bad Idea, I have my own reasons for declaring that, but i still feel that an unbiased commentator would agree, Ahmadinejād, will not initiate a war of any description, in the foreseeable future, he, as well as everyone else, can see the supreme risk associated with such a course of action. likewise America will not initiate a war against Iran in the foreseeable future, as a result of the Allies that Iran has aligned itself with, USA, will not mount an attack on a USSR affiliated nation. The risk is far do great even for a Leader such as Bush, which brings me to the third factor that will deny a war involving Iran, Bush is not in a position to launch any war, of any description, US military resources are spread too thinly already, any further military action would be very unwise.

A war involving Iran is not an option.

I'll take it a step farther

Maybe we should give each one of them a bomb and let them fight it out amongst themselves. They have been warring for millenniums. Time to settle things or even the playing field.

HA! think any of them are dumb enough to push the first button?

All these bogus reasons for going to war. A country is pretty much entitled to whatever they want to do. Even if it seems dangerous to our nation. If we aren't negligent of their actions we should have no problem. Especially thinking about how many technological advances we've had in effort to protect this country. Were just ignorant americans and they are people of another culture.
