Why would you buy brand new park skis?

Since skiing in the park is probably the worst things for skis why would you drop alot of money on brand new skis from the current year, when you can wait for the price drops and get them for sheaper. All that is going to them is they will get damaged and you wont be damaging a skis you bought for 250 instead of 500
 
but when you buy a cheap new ski for the most park they will fall apart alot more quickly than a more expensive ski...for the most part you get what you pay for, and yeah i understand what you are saying, there is no need to buy brand new skis every year
 
i can see that point but i can also see his point. I think that if you can hold off an wait until spring to buy skis when they are cheaper do it.
 
Yeah, I don't even ski that much park, and I don't mind being a season or two behind. I agree, unless your mommy's paying for it, or you just have the cash for some reason, it seems silly to beat up expensive stuff. I got my first pair of NEW skis a month ago, and they are still a season old, and I treated them like babies for a couple days until I scratched one and then it was like, sweet, I can ski on them now.
 
well I, for example, got ar6s this year cuz I was gonna be in colorado for a month on the east for the rest of the winter so I wanted a ski that would be good for both and my choices for ~85 waist park/all mountain skis were either karmas which I could got from last year but woulda still been almost as much as the ar6s, or PEs but I wanted something lighter... so my best choice was the ar6 even though I had to pay retail for it. If I could afford to have one sweet all mountain ski that would last me a while then I'd probably just buy fujatives or somethin like that for park.
 
you pay for the build of the ski...flex patterns are huge, its really just matching width and length and flex and durability to what you want. yea sure a fujative might be one of the most fitting skis for you and they are cheap but some people prefer the feel of the different ones that are more expensive and usually as a result more durable...but that also depends on how you abuse them. so, if you abuse skis heavily then sure get cheap new ones every year or if you arent into rails much then get expensive ones and keep them for 3 years...its so hard to answer this question cause theres like a hundred things that can make skis different.
 
Becuase im not a cheap ass and its more reliable rather then deals on here plus how the hell do you think you are gonna get used skis if no one buys new skis in teh first place?
 
if you can ACTUALLY ski park its not that bad for skis. like honestly as long as your not sliding rails way back on your edges and running into shit your good. i pretty much dont have dulled edges from rails anymore except when i pretzel
