Why take down threads?

Never quite understood this one. A moderator removes a thread that is pertinant because he most likely 'doesn't like the content' but leaves up threads that pertain to gossip and 12 to 20 year olds arguing about whether or not Tanner can ski.

So much for expressing one's views. Limit freedom, that is what this country needs more of.
