in response to 'trixta' 's last reply...that's the point. we would want someone to help us if we were in the same situation. the problem with that is, that's all that would happen, we would WANT, and WISH, and HOPE. and all that wishing wouldn't do us a damn bit of good, because noone would 'come to our rescue' like we have done for so many other countries. we foot the bill for EVERYTHING. what country rushed in and donated $350 Million to the united states when we went through OUR recent crisis? yeah i'm talking about 9/11. maybe a few small independent groups/countries donated a bit of money or aid, but not $350 million. and yes, i know that the situation over there is much different because loss of life/damage is much greater, but it's the principle. we act like the world's police force. we try to rescue everybody else and do everyone's dirty work. we try to play hero. who's gonna be our hero? and how about right now, we all stop using that ugly word 'stingy'. that's a poor fucking term for the united states. like i already said, we do EVERYTHING. we are the most generous and willing country in the entire world. $350 million. Three Hundred and fifty-fucking-million!!! that's a good chunk of change no matter how you look at it. we could EASILY have said screw you guys, we're putting our would-be donation to use in our contry for a change. we're going to give a better quality of life to less fortunate AMERICANS. god knows we need it just the same. i'm sick of everybody bitching. it makes no sense. i know everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but people who talk negatively about Bush's idea of 'enough' aid simply are not taking into account what it really, truly means. we do so much for so many. when's it our turn? that's not being selfish, that's wondering when it's time for someone else to play 'hero'. let france rush to the rescue.
