you just asked questions that i will never need to know. when a car has a computor problem you don't need to know what it is you simply plug a nice little red box into a plug and tell it to run a computor scan. so i don't really know much about car computors. on the other hand the answers to the questions you didn't know are

cold air intake sucks up water becasue it puts the air cone to far down the engine compartment to have the block stop water, it also has a very thin filter cone with no plastic layer for stopping water.

headers are not just exhaust manifolds, they are larger take up more room and increase exhaust flow and disipate heat better.

free flow exhaust is just a differant way to quiet your car, you might have heard it called 'tuned exhaust' but that is wrong it is in no way tuned and that is a differant thing altogether. free flow exhaust has a straight ported pipe going through a cylender of noise dampening material because of its design it makes a louder higher pitched sound. well thanks anyway, and if you like miatas good for you, but i don't.

celica altrac = 4wd now if u have gts i think that only has Fwd but if you swap the altrac engine hmmmmm a few horses/200hp altrac = 0-60 in 7.5 sec but i am very happy to hear that suspension mods come first could we be the same person b/c we think a like

Do you own the GTS right now and am waiting for altrac motor? what are future plans for car. there is something to be said about 80s sport car look dont you agree. that is what i think of when i think miata 80s

 
Yeah, i own the GTS right now and i'm waiting for a chance to look at an alltrac in town but if i dont get the alltrac i'm gonna get the engine. I've got many plan's either get the alltrac and make it a rally so i can eventaully compete in SCCA events or put a 3sgte engine in my GTS and work on that and make it good for autocross cause i want to get into both.

Drifting andy and I used to go into parking lots and do drifting with an old 84 merc marcuis fun as hell. Go empty parking loot find where you want to turn around go into turn with considerable speed apply brakes till 'sideways' then keep car steady untill ready to exit turn...========fun

there was so much wrong with that guys post. You can mount a cone filter anywhere and if water gets in, put an intake valve on. a few companies make them and they work real good.

Second, you NEVER want to let your exhaust gasses cool. thats what ceramic exhausts and exhaust wrap do - insulate. Hot exhaust flows faster and means less restriction and it keeps heat out of the engine bay. And you dont want an exhaust thats too small, or too big.

I think its funny when someone 'mods' a car and is surprised when their car is still slow because they did it all wrong.
