Why isn’t season eqpt core

it is a startup brand by 2 riders and it’s a small company and its very inclusive to everbody. but you don’t hear anything about their skis on here. i guess it is because eric pollard mostly rides off piste and doesn’t do a proper butter.

Lmao what op have you never seen a nimbus movie? Pollard, Pep, and Mahre practically started the whole no poles thing, along with proper butters

I can see folks being turned off by the Evo affiliation, but most likely because they're pretty spendy, and that deciding what's core is dumb.

But I'd consider it core because of EP

Pollard not doing proper butters? Lolwut? You ever seen anything by Nimbus or like any Pollard movie at all ever? They basically invented proper butters. Pollard could butter over some of these new wave guys so hard they'd be toast.

Pollard's history is a lot more than just off-piste. He's a pioneer of freeskiing. You don't hear much about season's skis just because they're so new. The brand is only a year old. The adoption rate is still in its infancy.

There's a huge emphasis on the quality of the product, the art and fun of skiing, and creating a more inclusive and ethical sport moving forward. Add EP, who's done more for the sport of freeskiing than almost anyone. Perhaps season isn't core because they have too much mass-market appeal, but the brand has credibility and authenticity, which is way more legit than the euro mega-corp conglomerate ski brands out there.

Amen. Although I can't say I'm a fan of the minimalist topsheets. I hope Pollard decides to stick some more of his art on his sticks, cause then I'll be all over that shit.

i guess you don't hear too much about the skis here is because most of the users here are skibums who work all summer and use all their money on a preordered pair of vishnus and weed.

hope to one day get my hands on some season eqpt.

Unreal that people hate on Pollard.

The first photo I ever saw a skier do a real nose grind was him. In Japan on a sketchy single barrel rainbow.

Also just his story is unreal

no I just don't like watching the same tricks in the same fits being done every year. pow skiing is gnarly asf but extremely repetitive, I have yet to see someone try something avant garde within the pow skiing community.

Okay fair. What about dylan siggers, have you seen keegan in slim to none, dollo in his last flick? Or are you strictly talking about lines and not booters.

I believe I read they’re going all black to reduce the waste of people buying new just for the new top sheet. Idk tho love his art too.

Pollard and line also were the first to make real fat skis. I recall seeing him on some 150 underfoot planks way way back when

That makes sense tho. I do like where he's coming from with that...perhaps he could go back to putting his art on his skis, but only releasing a new topsheet every few years, depending on how long he wants his customers to keep his skis for. Would allow him to keep his sustainability model. Between my SFBs and BlackOps, I've got too many black skis already.

I get that… but like people want to buy new stuff. It’s just how our society is. Creating a black top sheet won’t stop people from wanting to try a new ski technology or wanting to express themselves through graphics… they’ll always buy new.

If it was really about waste they would try to something like what WNDR Alpine is doing with their bio-based skis. Or some other type of recycled material.

For sure, I don’t think it will be that effective of a strategy but like the idea. Personally I don’t buy for updated graphics I just buy shit cause I love new GEAR, and usually that means buying diff brands or new and interesting tech

[tag=275298]@season_eqpt[/tag] we demand a street ski video filmed on a camera from the 90s or you will be CANCELLED

You dumbass kids, come here, make dog ass threads like this one, and then get mad when eheath says you’re dumb. “Say NS IS TOO TOXIC”

Eric pollard designs bad skis in my opinion

I wouldn't call them "bad" but they def have a specific style that isn't for everybody, not the best skis for charging hard and skiing fast and straight. Great for skiing the way EP does though

Anything not considered core in 2021 = I can't afford it is basically what some of us are picking up from the whole core. vs. not core movement.
