Why isn't anyone talking about Trump and Twitter?

I thought Trump and the GOP were all about freedom of companies to do what they want? Like not baking a wedding cake for a gay couple because they didn't want to? Twitter is a private company and therefore they are allowed to do whatever the fuck they want with their platform. End of story. The hypocrisy is fucking astounding.

YOO what this guy said. I'm not on NS to get political but we are jus causing divide...just because someone has a certain political view doesn't mean we all have to fight about it and judge ppl cuz the support whoever.

Yeah what he said I guess?...........

If a private company wants to enforce terms of use that people agree to, why is the government coming in to regulate them? Its like if I own a megaphone, I don't need to let you use it to go around spouting nonsense. He's mad because twitter caught him out looking foolish, which they are 100% entitled to do. If they want to add fact checks to Bernie or whoever they should do that too. There is a big difference between politician pandering and saying that any election with mail-in ballots is fraudulent hard stop. For a democracy, its the equivalent of yelling fire in a theater. If you can look around and see there's no smoke, it would be negligent to let them keep yelling.

Trump doesn't tweet half truths. The tweet in question wasn't a half truth. It was blatantly false information.

I don't know what the tweet in question was. Was it the mail in vote fraud one?

I don't see it as a bad thing considering Facebook and Twitter tend to censor the other side.

This..... I like how everyone ITT is complaining yet Facebook and Google is known to censor things like pro Russian media to oblivion...

Oh well, I bet someone here has a little sassy comeback that doesn’t really prove anything. The truth is, you guys don’t look at these situations with an overarching perspective - you nitpick tidbits of information to confirm your bias, and anything that goes against your bias is a threat because it challenges your world view, which you’ve spent years developing.

Fact checking and providing links that disproves disinformation seems like a much better way for social media companies to handle things instead of deleting stuff. Takes way more effort to do, but every time something gets deleted it makes dumb asses think there is some giant coverup going on.
