Why is there so much less money in skiing?

Why is there less $ in skiing than sports like skateboarding, football etc.. how can we change this?
 
The Olympics is a good start, but unfortunately it will never be as big as a sport like football, basketball, or soccer.

Skiing is expensive. The average American cant just go skiing.

Sports like football, soccer, or basketball are cheap to play. With that being said, so many kids can play them at a young age at very little cost.
 
It gets buried under all the snow. Skateboarders have it easy, they just pick that shit up off the ground.

Snowboarding is seen as more extreme you mean. In reality skiing and snowboarding are level in terms of extremity. Sadly when most people think snowboarders they think of Shaun White, and when they think skiers they immediately think gapers...
 
if theres enough money that some people get to travel around on budgets from companies, that sounds acceptable to me.
 
a lot of people joined the community in the last year, there's money out there. not much but some.

also "less" not "so much less"
