Why is my computer turning off by itself repeatedly?

Ok, so I go on my computer this morning and right as I get on it says"monitor going to sleep" , then I shake the mouse and click once and it turns back on and everything is fine. This process of going to sleep and shaking the mouse had happened about 8 times within 30 minutes. Whenever the monitor would start to work again/"get up from sleep" my internet pages are still there(thought that might help) Any help NSG?

Check power saving options. If that doesnt work restore your computer to a previous day when it was working fine.
