Why is everyone talking about how we are supposed to get feet of snow?

I just feel like that is total bullshit. It's not supposed to be cold....but we are supposed to have a "blizzard". My roommate is literally not doing his homework for tomorrow because he thinks there will be no school for sure.

Colorado weather can do whatever, but the conditions don't seem to be anywhere near what they are when we are getting ready for massive storms.

I know, it seems weird, but I've been hearing that too. I heard that it's supposed to snow up to 3ft at high elevation in Breck and that Denver is supposed to get up to 20in. Crazy! All my friends in Boulder are sick of snow, but I keep silently praying for more.

Ya, see I have no idea where that is coming from....

The Breck website says they might get 3-8 inches over 2 days.

...been snowing lightly since 6:30 am here in vail, but the past 2 hours it has been puking! I just looked out my window and it is dumping heavy. our porch here in east vail has about 6" on it so far...

The weather here is so bizarre, though, we could either get next to nothing or it could turn out to be the biggest storm of the year.

it's about midnight here and it has slowed down to light snow... hopefully it'll pick up again and get BIG. stoked for tomorrow either way

Nice, but one foot is an enormous difference from predicting 3 so I am still confused by where these numbers come from.

true, but the predictions i heard were 1-3 feet, so 15 inches falls nicely into that range...negative nancy. 15 inches of snow!!!! be happy

I am happy, no part of that was negative....

I am just wondering why I'm looking at 1 inch of snow when 20" was predicted. I don't understand the forecast that come out.

those numbers are storm totals...considering the winter storm warning is in effect through noon on saturday...there is plenty of time for things to change...not saying the front range will get 20, but it's been puking all day in breck and i think it's supposed to keep coming...

15" at the basin when they opened this morning. it was dumping all day and its supposed to keep up tommorow. they could def end up with 2+ when its all said and done. It probably snowed 5 inches while i was there today.

i heard vail is supposed to get 95 inches tonight...in fact it's basically confirmed, we're going to have to dig trenches to our cars in the morning and everyone needs to be careful walking around tonight, if youre outside for too long you might get buried above your neck and drown in it...REMAIN INDOORS

Haha, ya there is snow in Denver and the Springs right now. Snowing hard, but it's not very cold yet. Not bad, about 3 inches right now. Just enough for some urban I think.

Hope to see some good lines in the mountains tomorrow though.

Shiiit 70 is closed right now, better be open in the morning, if i miss tomorrow because of closed roads im gonna be piiiisseeeed.

lucky for me i headed up i70 early friday morning to go to breck. sooo many cars flipped over off the road, good thing my car pwns in the snow. pow day with hardly any people, same today since 70's been closed for so long and nobody from the front range has been able to make it up. so much snow here in blue river its insane.

No, it was more of a blanket forecast for the state. Some areas got dumped on and others just miles away got nothing. Typical CO weather, but it's hard as hell to figure out what's happening around the corner.

I drove up this morning since I had to stay in Colorado Springs. No problem, not much snow anywhere. It was pretty good on the mountain though, so it was worth it.

Ya....I should know by now to just ignore the forecast.

"The only people who predict weather in Colorado are fools and tourist."
