Why is Dumont using his last year ski?

For any comp after the xgames all ive seen dumont rocking is this years dumont ski... why isnt he using his own next year por model like the other salomon pros??

maybe he just wants to ride it cause he get them for free anywyas, why not ride them..

or maybe he wants to be diffrent than all the other pros who rock next years stuff. maybe he is content with riding this years model.

maybe he just likes inadequate cap construction.

hahahah i think its funny, he skis on his old ones then at the end he has someone run up to him and hand him his new skis, i for one think its a really bad marketing ploy, becuase if he doesnt even want to ride his own skis...

it is probably the same reason he had salomon put the same graphics on the ski 2 years in a row...he likes those graphics alot...might be other reasons but whatever there has to be some reason

i saw some guy at my mountain wearing the 09 dumonts and he had the same beard and hair as tanner hall...plus he was wearing all oakley outerwear...i was just wondering how he might have gotten those skis

Seeing as its a totally new ski... and Salomon is new to the whole sidewall construction business... its very possible that they are still having issues with the skis and he is in between prototypes.

Im guessing the ski's either been sent to salomon for some final tweaking, or maybe he only has one pair and he uses it for pipe. Using the old ones on rails and slopestyle in general.

this is for sure weird if it is a true pro model. he would always wanna ride his pro model if he got to say wat he wanted in the ski.

i doubt that simon only has one pair of his specific ski. My best bet would be that he likes next years for more pipe hits since their prolly stiffer and this years for more park/slopestyle cuz there a litle softer for the rails. idk why doesnt someone who knows him ask him why

i think the most likely thing is that he likes his old skis better for slopstyle, and his new ones better for pipe.

my coach was skiing on next years dumonts last week and he said they are a much better ski and not as much of a jib park ski thank the old dumonts. they actually ski the mountain real welland are not as jib oriented which is why he thinks dumnont dosnt like em.

maybe because why does it really matter what ski he's using..how come kids these days have to notice every little detail about pros pros and question the fuck about it....does it really matter?...y don't u just fucking call him up yourself..mannn

yah im not sure about that just becuase i was in my local shop today and they said that they were getting 2 pairs of all of next years solomons in om monday just for show and stuff

completely off topic for the most part... i saw someone at sugarloaf with the k2 extreme's, he didnt seem like he knew what he was doing either, and i just stared at them like, how the fuck do you have those

I could be way off, but I heard that Salomon didn't get samples of some skis in large sizes this year, and only have models in the mid to low 170s range right now. I would imagine that on features as large as the ones at JOSS, Simon might prefer a bigger ski, which did definitely come in a 181 "last" year. Again, I'm just speculating but that could be a reason, who knows.

I know for a fact that he skis on the 181 for super pipe. He may be short but the extra length wont kill him. I agree with CKO the size of the JOSS features would deff warrant the bigger skis.

Salomon has always used a foam core for all their skis, but next year they are redesigning the line with all wood cores. Maybe he just prefers the foam core to the wood core.

I am not sure, but why is Gagnier using what looks like an all white cap construction ski at JOSS?

I was thinking about waiting and getting the 09 dumonts, but I bought the 08s. Now I know that i made a good choice.

I think it's the exact opposite as Dumont rides a 181 for pipe and a 176 for everything else.
