Why get upset over age claim??

Why do people get so butthurt over someone putting their age in an edit? Is it jealousy? It really doesn't bother me I almost think it's necessary for the young guys to include it... Thoughts?

Its definitely not necessary, but I also don't understand why people get so worked up about it. Who cares if a young kid makes an age claim. Just ignore it and watch the edit. If its good, its good, and if not, so be it.

I totally agree with OP. Its much more significant for a youngster to throw advanced tricks and exhibit good technical skills than it would be for an older teenager or young adult. I believe it is jealousy and/or envy for people to complain about it.

I dont mind it when the kids is throwing down and age claims that hes 12 or under. But when I see kids age claiming at like 15+ its useless.

I'd rather see a sick edit from a grom , then ask his age rather than seeing his age all acros the video the description and the title.

Because it was decided one day that age claim wasn't cool anymore.

While it is a bit annoying, it seems like most people are just jumping on a bandwagon.

coz one of the red names (was is bishop?) made a stupid butt hurt thread about it and most of NS will agree with anything a red name says.

i don't get it, in my opinion the age claim is another form of stoke that the kids have and thats what skiing is all about, so claim your age all you want.

All you kids who are so butt hurt by it need to go and watch CLAIM again. Claim that shit.

THE ONLY REASON is that the kids who are all amazing by age 9 all start when they're 2(I'm exaggerating here), whereas the people who get annoyed by age claims only started when they were say 16, and they're now 18, wherein it's unfair that the 9 year old is more impressive to others as he's in fact been skiing a LOT more, and highly likely gets a lot more skiing(parents usually push them).

I doesn't really bother me if people are claiming something like 12, but if someone is trying to claim 15 or 16 then its kind of pointless.

im sorry to be a douche but did u just say the only reason they are better is because they have been skiing longer and get more time on the hill?

thanks captain obvious... : p

nah, that's the reason people are annoyed about age claims, they're not justified when they've had more practise than the older guys.

The only reason people care so much is it is the internet and people like to overreact on the internet just to be "funny" or annoy people. If you havent figured out that by now then you are just the stupidest person ever, just give up on the internet, you fail at it.

don't mind i guess, but i hate when ppl claim the shit out of it, like "Parks laps by whoever and by the way i'm only 12."

I'll repost myself, cause the other thread drowned!

What kids don't understand is that being 14 when they pull off your first dub isn't as sick as they want it to be!

There's a natural reason! First off they grow up with sick as parks, the

best jumps that have been made! Friends with to expencive cameras, legit

ski equipment with rocker, pop and shit!! Off course they gonna be good

quick!

Also, there are others who have done it before them, the young guns know

whats possible, they've already seen 500 shots of the tricks they do! they can

go to a fucking camp and get schooled!

No need to claim age.. if someboudy showed Candide a dub crok 1080 like 10 years ago, he would have pulled one off to!

When i started skiing, and I'm 23, not even that old, you where king off

the hill if you pulled off a 900, and I'm talking 9's that if

they where done with the same style today people would hate on your ugly

as grab, and lack of afterbang landing. Fuck, if Timmy Wallnuts did one, he would be crying afterwards..

Also skiing is big, people start earlier, most off them.. if you're gonna

claim anything logic would be to claim how long you have skied, but

unless you pull a nosebutter quad within your first season there's no

need for that either.

age claim, what is it? It could as well been an excuse for you not having balls enough for going going bigger!

Let the skiing talk, if you're good, you're good if you suck and don't like hate, don't post an edit on NS...

If you're trying to get sponsored, than put your age SOMEWHERE in the description and/or credits, not EVERYWHERE IN THE WHOLE DAMN EDIT. It can help you get sponsored, it lets people know that you still have many years ahead of you to progress and rep them. I dont care if people age claim, as long as its now overwhelming, or in the title, cause then they are trying to get you to focus on their age, not their skiing abilities.

There was this kid at a local comp throwing dubs and going huge, he was 18 but looked 14. There was a Armada rep there and he asked him to possibly be on the team, then they learned he was 18 and they changed there mind. Then they found torin I guess.

well fucking put. my thoughts exactly. not to mention the fact that kids are doing ridiculous shit like getting coached. kids gotta remember its FREE style so go out there and be free, learn the tricks for yourself or with friends. Dont learn your style from a coach. when people take desperate measures to progress it ruins the freedom of the sport

Yeah if your claiming over twelve, its kind of annoying. Otherwise, its cool to know how old the kids are that are throwing down super hard.

how about u dont worry and just them do whatever the fuck they want?

How the fuck can you possible see a negative side to a kid wanting to progress as much as possible?

this thread is fucking retarded. jesus NS wake the fuck up already.

exactly this, the young kids these days are the real second generation of freestyle skiers. they get to grow up in the age of doubles and triples.

i remember one of the first edits i ever watched when i first really learned about park skiing was teddy bear crisis and that was 8 years ago and thinking that rodeos and cork 9s were the craziest things imaginable. i wouldnt have believed that doubles would be possible. i still remember riding long straight skis until i saw that video then i saved all of my money over the summer and got a pair of old 1080s

what im trying to say is that the young kids these days are growing up with an advantage. they probably never and will never go through their own gaper phase when theyre learning how to ski. they are learning how to ski in the park with theyre A-bang shortys, full tilts, and saga. they get to go to camps and have coaches and watch edits of tom wallisch and stept and 4bi9 and B&E and they can see that all of this is possible and they can say "today im gonna learn cork 9s" but if you take most of the younger kids that shred in the park into the trees, they wont know what to do because there isnt a rail or jump in front of them and thats not right.

there are also so many more kids hat can throw the fuck down than there were 6,7,8 years ago so nobody is impressed that a 14 year old can huck dubs and big spins.

i think age claim if fair. If you are sick for your age, claim it. If you watch an edit of a 12 yr old hes not gunna be as good as an edit of an 18 year old. SO to make you aware of and appreciate the edit the age claim is needed. Otherwise its just some short guy with kinda bad style who cant ski very well.

either there's an age claim in the video, either there's someone asking the rider what age is he.

What's the point to hate on this ?

I'll have to repost my little footage of me spinning my 360's and spinning a little box, adding that I'm 51 haha

I'm 49. I've skied over 4000 days, including over 150 this season. And I'm talking under the chair bumps and park days, not TGR old guy days. I don't even like powder that much. CLAIM
