Why dont more girls ski park?

because they're out shredding big mountain. So many sick girls out there.

and also, it's tougher for girls to get that femininity in a guy-dominated sport. Girls are harsh on each other and skiing for girls isn't really a good point to bring up for yourself if a chick is bitching her out. Plus, it's fun to ski with other people, and skiing with other girls is hard because not many are good at park.

why are you so smart? you make a good point im a girl and there arnt any girls that ski park at my school. i try but the guys i ski with i guess iv kinda grown up with so im comfortable around them but it can be kinda intimidating skiing park

I don't why there are less, but I taught lots of girls to ski park this year so there should hopefully be more around soonish! One 6 year could get to the top of our superpipe, whilst rocking a pink one piece, was sick to watch.

It deffinally upsets me more girls don't ski hard in the park, im out there everyday and im still the only girl skier in the park its disapointing the only time i get competion is when i go to compete and most of the girls that compete just do it because they have no competion and always place first its bullshit i just want to get with some girls that rally instead of putting on make up and just making sure they don't look stupid gahh its so frustrating

I dont understand why the level of girl skiing is as embarrassingly low as it currently is. Its not like theyre physically unable to do it, girls could definately be as good as guys if they wanted to, just take a look at girls gymnastics they're on the same level as guys.

its maybe not true (if someone has statistics or something, post it) but from my point i would say that less women are really into sports than men in general.

especially in sports that are considered "extreme sports" like freeskiing i think they're scared to get in because you really can hurt yourself and stuff.

furthermore, if i was a girl i wouldnt be attracted to start freesking alone, i mean without another girl doing it. i dont think its easy as a girl to hit the park, meet 20+ male, dumb and immature skiers that will either make fun of you or try to fvck you just because you've got twins and baggy pants...

I kid when I say this but this must be said.

Why don't more girls ski park isn't the important question, the more important question is who let them out of the kitchen

But honestly I think it is they don't want to.

I think it might have something to do with the fact that, in general, guys think "Jackass" is way more awesome than girls think it is.

I dunno, but out here on the west coast we actually have mountains, I'd rather be out skiing big lines and hucking cliffs anyday than skiing park. Its not that I can't, I can hit most rails, 270 off, and hit all the booters , 3's, still learning 5s, but it's just not fun for me.. I get much more rush hitting a 40ft cliff than hitting a 100ft booter.

dude there was a female explosion in my park this year!!!! but they were all snowboarders...still it was a big surprise and nice 2 c

less girls rollerblade for sure, I only remember seeing like a half dozen in the 10 years I was skating and only at parks haha

most girls get intimidated by what guys can do on skis and don't really put extra effort into trying it.... i try to do what the guys do and have learned that falling isn't a problem! it would be cool to see more girls doing cooler tricks!

I think this might play a role.....

after a long convincing period i got my sister to go straight on a box and she bragged about it for a long time, but yeah most girls i know are more big mountain skiers and i know some who rip

I don't get why people would think like that, it just seems like they give up before they even try. It seems like they have no self of steem, skiing isn't about being the best, its about having fun and doing what you want, thats why its less of a "sport" and more of an art. You should never be embarrassed to try, especially because people don't hate on girls in the park ever regardless of what happens, its always props for an attempt or whatever is happening

I'll admit. I am scared. I'm not scared of getting hurt because bruises go away, but the bruise on my heart will always be there. The boys are intimidating, and I necessarily don't want to look like a complete jackass in front of them. I also don't like the guys giving me pointers as I am trying things. I like it better when I'm with my fellow chica skier Hannah. We give each other pointers and I don't get mad at her when she tries to tell me something.

for me, i totally wanna be able to just rip up a park. But i like doin stuff in back country. I've been pretty timid to go into the park, cause last year i was in the park all day with a couple of my boarding girls. and i got to the rainbow rail and i would eat shit all the time, and this dude comes by right behind me and like just get the fuck out of my way, u don't belong here. Like we all have to start somewhere and if he was observent he maybe woulda notice that was pretty much the only rail, i kept messin up.

yeah.. that whole thing makes me mad... i can only find park rats who are boys.. and they are all snowboarders.. and my boyfriends friends... i can only take so much of that  :) ... everyone else i try to say what up to... you know people that i see in the park everyday.. are for some reason jack asses... i try going by myself... and just get unmotivated... because i ask "hows the speed for that jump"?... (talking about a 45fter that i dont wanna land flat on) and all i get is blank looks and no response from anyone around me...

i love the park (and am in it everyday .. except pow days, of course) .. but some peoples attitudes in it and the fact there are no other girls (or very few) that ride it, or want to ride it.. makes me kinda mad...

CAUSE IT SUCKS TO GET HURT... it's not for everyone. some girls can take the hits and other would rather not and enjoy other things in life that are less painful. this coming from someone whos torn my acl, chipped my teeth, gotten stiches from gashing my knee into a rail, consusions, hemotoma, broke fingers and torn minisus.

that's why you gatta have respect for the girls that do shred the park and take the hits cause not everyone can.

yup.

Personally, I don't do much park skiing. Not for the fact that i'm scared of getting hurt ( i always am getting hurt) but for the shit you get from the guys when you're there or if you stuff something up. Girls get second priority, if a guys on the rail a girl has to back off.

Guys have a need to prove themselves amongst their peers in the field of athletic competition. Girls just ski for fun and will go into the park only if they really love it. They have nothing to prove and are scared of looking masculine.

No offense but 'snowboarder' who dress in XXXXL clothes aren't attractive.

I know a bunch of girls that kill it...throwing 540's over 40 ft. tables and spinning onto boxes.

word up mski...there's a group of girls around burlington who kill it (assuming that's what you're talking about). this was the first season I actually got to ski with other girls and it was by far my best season ever.

I think more girls don't ski park cause 1. it's cold 2. its hard and scary at times. 3. it hurts to fall....espically on ec ICE. I don't particularly like any of those things, but it's all worth it to finally get the trick/rail
