Because idiots are willing to pay that much. Basic supply and demand...

Because terrain parks cost an insane amount to build/maintain. I know for fact cat time at Whistler in the summer is $250/hour. Diggers/Coaches/Staff all have to get paid as well...

costs add up quick. The owners of the camps do well, but they aren't taking home insane amounts of money every summer.
