I think its messed up that history is happening with obama and i cant watch it because ill be in spanish class. i understand some kids wouldnt watch but its still a major landmark for our country. Just 200 years ago slaves were living in the white house and now we have a half black pres. I hate my district haha

we have fucking midterms, but luckily i get out of school early so i can hopefully watch it once i get home

and i'm dvring it, so i don't have anything to worry about. but watching it in school would be sick

do your normally get the inauguration off?

i personally am not going to celebrate the fact that America has a half-black president until i know he's going to do good for the country. i mean, when you think about it, if he doesn't do a good job, this could be a step in the wrong direction for racism.

Sorry, but I missed the part where you said you were a political expert. Where was that part again?

Why do you think he is going to be the worst President this country has ever had? I sure as hell wouldn't want to be in his position. Fuck, if he only adds a couple million jobs and prevents another war from, I'd consider his presidency a success. I can't say as much for the jabroni that got us into this situation.

whoah whoah whoah, he said COULD. calm down. he's right, Obama, could be detrimental. he never said he is. nobody is hating on your president yet.

well despite the fact that i'm Canadian, i'm celebrating the end of Bush's term. believe it or not, Canada is not on another planet.

im celebrating a great opportunity for change. sure we can not celebrate and say that he could be terrible, but why not hope for a better presidency than the last?

OK, you're right, I thought you said he will be the worst. I apologize.

But now, will you please tell me why you think he "could" be the worst President ever?

As is the rest of the world.

because he COULD fuck everything up worse. because he COULD be all talk and no action. because he COULD just spend the entire time in washington fucking interns. because he COULD be faced with a terrorist attack from another country and decide against all rational thinking to invade. because anything CAN happen. get off your high horse and realize obama and messiah are not one and the same.

OK, so suppose he is all talk and no action? That puts us in NO WORSE of a situation than we are now.

Suppose he only decides to fight ONE war at a time? Oh my god, heaven forbid! We've elected a terrorist to be our President!

Hindsight is always 20/20, and until his Presidency is over we can't comment. All I am saying is that, in my opinion, there is NOTHING he can do that is worse than what Bush did for our country.

he COULD make things better. he COULD take action and back up his words. he COULD not waste time fucking interns. he COULD handle a terrorist attack in the best of ways. because anything CAN happen.
im not on any high horse and have never compared obama to messiah. im just thinking that obama COULD be a hell of a lot better than bush. im thinking good vibes and hoping that the next four years will be better than the past eight. ever hear of looking towards the bright side of things?

Haha see, you spewed the first statement you made out of your ass. You have no clue what you are talking about when it comes to politics. And it's okay, because I don't either. But I know enough to realize that you are trying to hop on the "anti-Obama" bandwagon as much as people are hopping on the "Obama" bandwagon.

I know, anyone can run for president and just say "I'm going to fix the world, bring jobs, blah, blah..." It means absolutely nothing until it actually happens, and people feel to realize this. Just because he is elected doesn't mean he is going to do any better then bush.

People have built him up, yes. Hope, perhaps? You're right, there is no way of knowing. A couple of posts above, I said hindsight is 20/20.

I'm not going to agree with the statement that he could be the worst president ever, because he is in one of the worst situations this country has ever seen. He could create one million jobs and fix the BCS system, and be considered a failure. Who knows?

Daewon, thank you for agreeing with me.

chris - I'm approximately 19 years and 29 days old. Yourself?

We must wish him luck because he is the first black president, not because he's about to fuck the country over financially.

fucking absurd, it just shows how liberal our schools are when they give you inauguration day off. im demanding it next time a republican is elected.

i don't this c.h.r.i.s. is looking on the dark side though, and neither am i. i'm looking at both sides. you have to keep an open mind and realize that no matter how good any politician may seem, there are always some out there that get elected and then just turn their backs on the people.

See, why does everyone think he is going to fuck us over financially? I don't understand this!

What will he do, in terms of finance, that is WORSE than giving billions of dollars to companies with CEO's that FUCKED up? How is that punishment?

agreed. im not taking anyones side. im agreeing with everyone saying that ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN. i just hope for the best

word haha. youre just like "i want to watch it and not have class" as everyones like raging in your thread haha

Sorry. I really do hate political threads, but sometimes I just don't understand why people assume the worst out of someone, especially when this country just went through the Presidency of one of the worst presidents ever.

Obama agreed with the bailouts. he is pushing for more. pull your head out of obamas ass and look at the light of day. and there is no anti-obama bandwagon, there are only sheep, or people who can think for themselves. you most probably fall under sheep. I am waiting to see if obama can help, but i hold out no hope for any change at all. it won't come. we need a true fiscally conservative leadership to pull us out of this financial crisis, something the obama administration definitely is not, and the bush administration was not either.

"obama could be the worst president we ever have, no one knows yet." - pessimism

"um, because he could just be a total fuckup?" - pessimism

"I'll see if he can get you close enough to suck Obama's black penis." - well, that's not pessimism but it was just too fucking stupid to leave out

I didn't see any posts where you gave his strengths or his attributes.

ALL I am saying is that, even if Obama accomplishes very little, he WILL be better than Bush.

You're right, at first I thought that is what chris said. Turns out I read it wrong, and apologized. He continued to stress his points in a very mature manner.

Please don't take my karma, chris :(

i kinda feel sorry for him. a lot of people have built him up to be some sort of saviour, like he's going to save America from all it's fallen into, not just in the past eight years but long before that, like he's going to just suddenly pull Americans out of every mess they've gotten into, make them all rich and happy, maybe introduce flying cars that run on happiness, etc.

but he isn't. i don't doubt that he could do a lot of good stuff for America, but he isn't going to do it all instantaneously, and he isn't going to start with with singing rainbows and flying pigs. but for some strange reason, there was this obsession with him and the words "hope" and "change." even the haters picked those words out, as if no politician in the history of the earth had ever uttered them before. after what Bush did, how could a politician NOT say he was going to change things? you wouldn't get elected if you walked up onstage and told everybody that your best friend is George Bush and you're going to keep everything he was doing the same.

the people have built up Obama to be some sort of heaven-sent being, and though he may do good, i don't think he's ever going to be the president that so many expect him to be. and it's not his fault really, it's not as if he ever said he was going to fix everything that's wrong with America today. some people just heard the word "change" and assumed that meant he was going to change everything.

i don't doubt that he could be a great president, and i don't doubt that he could be a terrible one. what i do doubt, is that he's going to live up to the ridiculous expectations that so many people have given him. even FOX news recognizes this, and they've acted on it by saying that HE thinks HE is the messiah, when he's never even promised half of it, because they know that the more people believe he is going to be the best president ever, the more people are likely to be disappointed with him when he isn't, and the more people are going to O'Reilly call black people the scum of the earth.

so if you want to ask me what i think of Obama, you can ask me in four years, or at least two, because i don't know the man, and i can't see the future. all i can see are the possibilities.

thank you for putting this into perspective.

+karma.

i mean you never really know until he's in the office, so im holding my breath and hoping for the best.

he already has pissed off many liberals because of the people he's appointing, so...

idk, i think the celebration at my school is a little absurd.

i understand that he is the first black president and that is HUGE. but at the same time, we aren't in the midst of the civil war. Racism has in no way disappeared, and is still apparent in many aspects of our country, but I don't think that racism is the most important issue in our country right now. the "War on Racism" isn't currently putting us in debt and aggravating our foreign relations with the middle east.

I wish more people voted for Obama because of his policies rather than the fact that he is young, black, and "in".

The purpose of our government is not to elect people based on their diversity, and trying to prove that we are no longer a close-minded and oppressive community. The purpose of our government is to help maintain our human rights, protect us and create a safe community in which we can "pursue happiness".

The candidate who can best achieve this should be elected, regardless of the color of their skin, religion, gender, or sexual preference.

APUSH exam tomorrow =/

fucking seriously. i think half the people that like obama like him cause hes black. they dont even really know his policies. everyone just expected he was gonna legalize weed cause he was black...n they were wrong.

You guys feel sorry for him? Give me a fucking break. He just got elected to the most powerful position in the world...do you think he feels sorry for himself?

I don't know about you guys...but I care a lot more the Americans taxpayer's exceptions of Obama rather this "he's under so much great pressure" bullshit. The citizens are the ones that will end up paying for it if he fucks up. If he didn't think he could handle the pressure, we wouldn't have run for office.

i just think hes in over his head. i dont really see him making us any worse off by any means so im not too concerned about us. i feel that hes going to go down in history as a major, major disappointment. thats the only reason id feel sorry for him.
