i mean i have no problem with what you do.. but for fucks sake..... i think that some kids waive that flag just for the sake of waiving a flag....
 
im sorry sarah.... the only way id belive your straitedge.. if i saw x's on your wrists.... and im really talking bout straitedge kids that go out and try to pick fights with" non sraitedges... i was at a hardcore show and 3 guys came up to me and started givign me shit and all.........

kids shouldnt be making a big fucking deal about whether they drink or not casue no one cares

 
theres nothing wrong with not favoring drinking and drugs. but claiming your a straightedge and using it to define yourself is stupid
 
some chick i met last week has been straitedge for 1 week. and she had already tattoed an X onto her wrist. I thought that was retarded.
 
people that do drink do that too. I got alot of shit in high school that was unprovoked because I didn't drink. Just happens pal, no matter what affiliation you're talking about.
 
a lot more people claim that they are hard core badasses than claim straightedge. i think you hear a lot more about people who claim straightedge because they always have to defend themselves against the fags that only talk about getting drunk or high all the time and challenge straightedge kids for doing what they want. I think that people in college seem to be more mature about it. everyone just does what they want and kind of minds their own business.
 
correct, end of argument basically. there is no reason to say your straightedge unless you are trying to show that you are better than everyone.
 
I havea cousin who is seriously straightedge and she shows it out of pride and uses it to counteract people who only talk about getting drunk and doing drugs.
 
yeah..i understand. like gettin shit for not dooing something....... but 4 reel.. i hurd bout some guy got beat up in slc cause he axed a strait edge guy for a lighter.. and his whole posse jumped him.... but yeah.. really i feel its the biggest label you can give for your self.. im in no way saying i am perfact.. in fact im pretty fucked as it goes. but shit man.... dunno.. like i guess stoners could be considerd the antihero of "sraitedge" but its not like the edgeers
 
In Seattle, the mayor made the straightedge community a gang, in legal terms, because so many people were getting beat up for not being edge. It's nuts.
 
i know all these kids that call them selvs xvx'ers and there all hardcore vegan straightedge and they listin to hardcore straightedeg music and get tattoos callled scarifications. mostly of x's on there plams of there hands. hardcore straightedge 4 life xvx.
 
slc is notorious for militant sxe crews. im not suprised they didnt send him to the hospital. but seriously a lot of sxe kids just claim edge so that they can feel accepted by other sxe kids. most of them are just claimers and will break edge in a months time. my ex gf claimed edge and vegetarian so she could get with this guy then she fucked him and became an alcoholic...again.
 
whenever anybody tells me theyre sxe i get skeptical. hmmmm really your claiming an entire image and mindset that other people are going to judge you on that supposedly represents a decision that you make for yourself and nobody else??
 
i agree they don't need to announce it, fuck. they piss me off. i don't go around yelling "i get drunk and stoned!!!"
 
In Vancouver no one cares, neither does most people in seattle, so I don't know what was happenign at champion shows you saw.

Most kids who "claim" edge don't put x's on their wrists you numbnuts. Not to mention I've never seen anyone get beat up for not being edge EVER. Chances are if you are smoking weed, drinking, or smoking cigarettes in a venue you will get in shit. BECAUSE OF LIABILITY, alot of minors go to hardcore shows and they lose venues if people are doing drugs there.

Fights happen at any show of any kind. I've NEVER gotten in a fight at a hardcore, punk, or metal show before. I see more at hip hop shows
 
theres a huge sxe scence in portland.. the biggest is rose city strait edgers they got sweatshirts and stuff there not bad... its the other edgers... the ones with x-s tatted on the neck and on there inner lip.......

but yeah.. like i might be proud to say im a stoner but im not gonna lablel myself and wachk off to my own label
 
Straightedge people get tatoos? ROFL, thats gay as fuck. Such a hippocritacal thing to do, they wont "poison" their body, but ink into their skin doesnt count?
 
I dont know thats realy strait edge. You can still be strait edge have sex but just not with random people all the time.
 
It's different reasons for different people buddy, some are edge because people in their family died, or were hurt by drugs, some because its being taken advantage of by drug and alcohol manufacturerers(sp?). Perhaps for some people it just "isn't" their thing.

As for having good friends who don't drink or do drugs, there is sometimes need to claim "edge". At parties (yes edge kids go clubbing and to partys) people WILL question and try and force you to drink or do drugs. It is just easier for them to say, no im edge.
 
the only fights i see is when hardcore kids mix with metal heads

the whole straight edge thing is just something you have to accept...

real straight edge "kids" are actually like 26 years old and very intelligent...

just let kids do what they wana do and if you get harrassed..settle it and forget about it
 
Not to mention, I know a dude who is like 23 and broke edge (huge tattoo on his leg too), and his friends don't hate him, they make jokes, but they are still his friends.

Go to an ACTUAL hardcore show and all the kids tend to be really nice and accepting.

ive been to many hardcore shows in my time...but an example is i went to see bury your dead a while ago (with killswitch engage)...and all the metal kids there to see killswitch started fights with all the hardcore kids
 
i dont drink or smoke weed. ive got reasons that would take to long to explain. tobacco smells bad. im straitedge, and theres i good chance it wont be that way forever. but right now, i like the way things are going for me and i have fun at parties without and mind-alteration.

and im definately not getting any straitedge tatoos until im AT LEAST 21. im 17 now, so ive got awhile to maintain...
 
i used to be straight edge, i really dont wanna get into this and i dont wanna type. n e ways some of the people i knew claimed it because they kinda needed the reminder why they are doing it and they claimed it to show that they are standing up for how they feel.

I don't think I've ever met an edge kid who DIDN'T drink caffeinated drinks (excluding people who don't for reasons such as insomnia or low tolerance).

Also alot of edge kids are christian,
