Why are so many americans so stupid

seriously, is it something in the water? are your schools not good enough? whenever I'm anywhere on the internet i can identify almost all the americans because of their terrible spelling & grammar, brutal use of deductive reasoning and utter lack of sentence structure. y'all been watching too much WWE or what?

Our schools are absolutely horrendous and are getting worse every year. This is just one part of the problem. Parents are also getting worse each year. Electronics, especially smartphones, are permeating all aspects of society. iPads and the like have taken over basic parental duties, as they shut children up and are a lots easier than actually parenting.

Women leaving their rightful place in the kitchen and working are a major problem. Children no longer have a mother around to raise them. The "family dinner" is all but a myth. We have lost the family, our schools are horrendous, and we are more diverse than ever before (both racial and economic). America is going to hell, and quickly.
 
We don't need no edumacation when we'll just invade your ass in the name of freedom! We're about to free the fuck out of all of you!!

Yeah our schools are absolute shit. My high school, which is known for being a great place has changed since my brothers went there from 2001-2010. Its like they stopped giving a shit, the teachers my brother got kicked out of teaching a certain class for plaigarism are now teaching the classes again, my english teacher admitted he went to school for engineering, got his english major and managed to get a teaching job at a high school, he said he has no clue what hes doing and starts projects that are suppose to be mind expanding and make us "understand the world" and just bullshits his way through the year. One of the math teachers who has dozens and dozens of complaints a year for not teaching then giving out hard ass tests, is still teaching and the principal and everyone high up in the system knows this stuff. Its like Americas teaching system doesnt care, they just want us to be taught how to pass each class. As a kid with an Individualized Education Program I see this is so present, Im always having to go to the learning specialists for extra help because Im just not taught the material. This is why Im taking my senior year not so seriously, I have 2 support classes, a free period and will have another next semester, but unlike any other grade before, Im taking a class that will actually help me when I get out of the shithole, financial algebra. Aside from that Ive just hit a point where I cant stand being handed work, without instruction and when I ask, its something theyve never told us before.

tl dr, my school has gone to shit, I only give enough fucks to pass, Americas schooling blows.

People just sort of have this thing with following the same routine over and over to the point where that becomes reality; that becomes all they know, not actually living.

Nowadays, you're taught how to find out a way to pass the tests. That's it. No teachers in America care about if you actually retain the knowledge or not, it's not important to them. What is important to them is the school average standardized tests scores. That is all that is important. I went to a private highschool (freshman in college now) and even there, a school that was known as a high education learning institution, all that mattered was how well we could do on standardized testing.

This causes another problem when you look at it another layer deeper. With the school systems prioritizing test scores, what are teachers going to teach? How to do well on tests. What does that lead to? Teachers who don't care about actually teaching and instructing the course because they have become disinterested in how they're being told to run the class. The majority of teachers go into their profession because they genuinely like the material the plan on teaching and therefore want to share their knowledge and passion with the youth. Only problem is that that isn't what school systems are pushing anymore in their agendas. Knowledge becomes second best to test scores. Then when teachers lose interest in teaching the course and material, how are the youth going to have any enthusiasm to actually learn the material.

This creates an entire systematic cycle of lost interest and knowledge. It's so sad to see that the majority of the people of my generation find learning and creating self-knowledge to be a chore and see no worth in it. Like that's honestly depressing. I find so much joy in reading books to discover and retain new, self created knowledge.

If we continue down this path, which I see no change at all in the foreseeable future, we will be creating a generation of individuals that lack genuine knowledge. Creativity is looked down upon now because that doesn't fit into the realm of testing. Neither does critical thinking. You'll have a generation of people with no creativity, no passion, and no thinking skills.

TL;dr: Yes, Americans are dumb and it's not changing anytime soon.

3. The United States Media fucking blows. No public broadcasting stations have been left untouched by corporate interests groups.
 
Honestly I have traveled around the world and people in a lot of developed countries and have seen equally ignorant viewpoints. Its just we are in the spotlight
 
Parents are substituting nurture and teaching experiences with technology. My mom worked everyday as a hairdresser when I was a kid, But I always came along and interacted with people. human to human contact can never be substituted with technology, just like how books and working with tangible things like crayons and paper or blocks.

Americans may be dumb but at least we know it. Europeans walk around like theyre the shit, and the french are just dumb cockbags about everything. Don't act like any of us are any different. Ive had great schooling my whole life. Maybe thats just me but I have come to the conclusion that everyone in the world is born with equal smarts, it what we do with it that matters. What i see in america is less of a sense of entitlement than europe which obviously makes it easy to make fun of us. But we are still the most productive nation in the world so suck my ballsack.

But there needs to be a mass extinction event that happens in the US. Too much stupidity, just not worth it anymore. Some kind of painless instakill virus should take out the entire population and let the rest of the world come and use the land.

Do you actually believe that? That is probably one of the most inhumane things I've read in a very long time. You should never wish death upon another person, let alone an entire population.

You know who that sounds like? Hitler and others who genuinely believed in the process of "ethical cleansing" of an entire race.

That is disgusting.

I know some decent engineers but my actually engineering teacher last year would do the same as my English teacher, hand us a pile of shit with little instruction with high expectations of a food product.

Sorry I didn't finish my thought on my first quote. There is evidence that a lack of a parent at home(no gender bias) is effecting the youth. We are living in a day where everything is so expensive both parents are needed to work, and as an end result, the kids are suffering.
 
It is the education system, but it's also natural selection, smart people tend to also be unathletic, and there are school shootings all the time in America, see the correlation?

OP is clearly trolling and a bunch of morons are falling for it and crying about our schools. Do you really want to stay in school until 5pm like they do in Japan? ANd have you ever been to a 'bad' school in the inner city and realized how certain students simply refuse to learn or apply themselves? And at said 'bad' schools in inner cities do you have any idea how good they can be for the 20-30% of kids who want to actually learn and aren't hoodlums. I taught in the Syracuse public school system and coached hockey the kids who were at all nerdy or academic all went to Ivys and despite being able to attend SU for free based on growing up in the city which was a new thing SU had just added were like 'F SU coach Im going somewhere better like Yale or Brown' when I asked them where they wanted to go. And most did go somewhere better than SU.

Yeah our education system really sucks when we have the best universities in the world and most people participate in some form of higher education.

OP lets compare our educations you might have better grammar than me on an internet forum I'll give you that one I don't proof read before I hit reply...and I generally type and post like I am speaking in conversation not drafting a written document.

But forget about who is smarter lets assume we are similar and come from similar backgrounds and compare our free public education assuming OP didn't go to private school. My public high school Newton North outside of Boston sent me to St Petersburg Russia for a month because it was one of maybe 8 languages offered and I talked my teacher into setting up an exchange trip. Took it for 3 years and forgot most of it and got awful grades (the teacher even raised my grade after jr year I was so dumb at languages and he felt so bad for me but I had to promise to not take the class as a senior in exchange for him doing so.) Last year my cousin married a Russian and at the wedding I was not only the one guest capable of communicating with everyone at the wedding since I spoke both languages but I also took the bridesmaid back to my hotel room afterwards (Russian of course.) Who can I thank for that other than my high school? I wasn't even in the top 50% of my class and was still able to get into a good college (Syracuse.) DIdn't even get good grades there but I learned enough about economics my major and was immersed enough in sports which is my business that I haven't had to work a normal job for the last 5 years and been able to run a business and ski a lot (Ive taken close to month long trips to Aspen and the Alps on my own dime as an adult staying in nice hotels.) So once again I can thank my awesome ass education for skills to be able to do that.

Lets hear how you had better access to education than me in Canada OP?
