Because K2 has very few competition riders. PK Hunder rode K2's in comps for years before he went to Head.

well they dont sponsor "x games" type skiers and I think all of their skis have early rise which lots of people don't prefer for competition

its the same as line, K2 is more "fun" oriented then "winning". They are great skis, it's just most of their riders don't do comps.

Anna Segal rides for K2 right?

I remember her winning a medal on them a few x games ago?

They call it the "rivet rule". No more than 2 rivets are allowed on a pair of skis and K2 generally throws on at least 4.

It is important to note that while there is some overlap in the companies that K2 owns (e.g. K2 also owns Line, which compete directly with K2's self-branded skis), the separate companies retain control of their respective product lines. For all intents and purposes, they are completely different companies.

Probably has a lot more to do with the team that they choose. Without doing a ton of research, I'd surmise that they generally sponsor non-competition athletes and as such you don't see a ton of K2's out there.

They do a lot more in the rest of the space. They're actually pretty cool at sponsoring things like Nimbus, crazy ideas like Skeeze, etc.

i have always wondered why no pros use Domains and other K2 skis in comps! they absolutly kill on the slope!

ya, same with the half pipes, they don't like the rivets cutting in the the pipe walls, people might cet their edges caught in them and crash.

K2 does alot more regional, local sponsorships than most other companies do, which i think is really cool. Instead of paying the best skiers in the world 100s of dollars to ride their skis, they give local kids here and there a couple pairs of skis.

I've always wondered the same thing but this is definitely the reason. I've seen Clayton Vila and Sean Jordan compete on the recoils.
