Who's a better big mountain skier: sean pettit or tanner hall?

I would. Watch his segments from believe, the massive, and re:session. He has really stepped it up. He is killing it in AK now.

I don't know if Petit is better. Before this year I would have said no, but I'm not positive.

Tanner Hall is really sick in the backcountry, especially in that snow pillows part in believe, but I personally like the style that pep fujas, eric pollard, benchetler, and mahre have, which I think that sean pettit is more of...so i personally would rather watch sean pettit in the backcountry....such a smooth style with hand drags and slow spins

Sean slays some pretty solid lines in AK with multi stage drops during In Deep, throws tricks as well as the huge 7 at the end of his segment, I haven't seen Re:Session yet (it's in the mail) but I'd say that In Deep segment is at least as impressive as T-Hall in Believe/Massive/UTI.

Thats not exactly big mountain stuff...and for the actual question, I would say that Sean is because he will be way better than Tanner when he gets to Tanners age, and he is as good or possibly better than Tanner right now anyways

Pretty sure growing up in Pemberton and at Whistler all the time as a kid he didn't get his start from Tanner.

honestly right now i would say tanner is as good if not a bit better than sean with big lines just cause hes had more experience and knows what hes doin. but im 100% sure that sean will be better before he reaches tanner's age just cause hes skiin waaaay bigger stuff than tanner was when tanner was his age

there is a difference

I fucking hate HATERS. when i saw this thread i thought to my self, fuck i dont know who is better and i tried figuring it out, then i clicked on the link to find out what every ones else thinks. Now that im on the link every one was just hating. come on now. and im gonna have to go with sean on this one because he was doing huge shit in, In Deep.

They may do lines in AK. But of their segs, it's mostly that pillow line off-piste stuff that the other dude posted.

or the massive cuz the seg with jah rule the world, right before the big session in Hood thall is skiing shit just like that in pemberton or something

you havent seen re:session or the massive. tanner does a seven off a cliff at the bottom of a crazy line in re:session, i say hes better.

Between the two guys that the OP listed I would pick Tanner cause I have seen RE:Session. However, I still feel there is something different between the way Thall and others ski AK lines compared to someone like Seth Morrison, Hugo Harrison, or Jeremy Nobis. Those three rip down AK and BC lines balls to the wall without a care in the world.

Hahaha that's scientific man.

But as for who's better, I haven't seen all this year's movies or any TGR ones, so I can't really judge. But based off some other stuff that I've seen, they're both some of the most entertaining pillow and Big Mountain skiers I've seen. I've been stoked on watching Sean ride since I saw Believe and I think he's just getting better and better. So he'll probably pass Tanner at some point, if not already. It'll be easier to tell after seeing some more of this year's segments.
