What up NS, I know this is a little early to ask but I’m going to be working up at t-line this summer and wondering if anyone has an in with any cheap housing and if they looking for roomies. I know cheap housing is hard to find up there but figured I would ask anyway. If I can’t find any cheap housing I’m looking for people to gypsy style it with out in the woods cuz camping solo for a summer sounds lame. Also +K if anyone could give me some insight on the bar/party scene in Govy.

Applied to Windells, probably won't get it, but if I do then hmu, tryna ski an film as much as possible

windells is literally slave labor, and tline pro park is a better park than the lane. It's also incredibly easy to get a job at timberline and they actually pay you, like they will hire you if you have a pulse.

Yeah apply to t-line, I hear some of the jobs at windells are shittier but some are good. What did you apply for at windells?

Pretty sure this was Ming’s job a few years back if I remember correctly.

My lease ends in May and I’m considering sending it to hood for the summer. Won’t be doing a done of park skiing, more interested in the mountaineering side of things but if I do head up that way I’m down to find some cheap housing or slum dog it otherwise.

Yup. I was an office assistant then the manager. Def would have gone back had I had my life together last year.

Fun job. When I was an office assistant, I made $15 cash per day on average lol but that's not considering food, transportation, housing and a $1000 summer pass so it's all good. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Not sure I'd have walked away with more money working for tline and having to pay for everything but I didn't try that so I can't speak to it.

Semi-related to this, Is a summer pass worth it to buy for the public park? I know its expensive, but I also hear time and time that you can sneak to windells and pro park etc.

anybody know a ball park number? slash if its actually worth while?

IDK but probably about $900 for the summer pass. Rough guess is day tickets may start out at $75 and then drop to $55 in August. I feel like you'd have to ski a lot for it to be worth it but do the math and you can figure out if you will come out ahead with the pass or day tickets. You are going to need a Timberline ticket to ride the mile and access anything.

DEFINITELY work at Tline over Windells...coming from someone who has worked at both.

I second this.

Windells didn't even bother to start paying me until session 5. I was recycling cans at Thriftway to pay for food between sessions. You can't really expect to make much money working at either place, but at least Timberline doesn't resort to indentured servitude to keep their business running.

On a different note, has anyone worked at Ski Bowl and dealt with their pass exchange program with T-line? Is it worth it or should I just go back to T-line?

I worked both ski bowl and Timberline in the summer. The exchange program is not bad! It’s very convinient and free nobody else at Ski bowl makes use of it you’ll probably be one of the only ones on any given day using it. I made good use of it got a full 17 days in the summer

the next summer I worked at Timberline I was part of an elite group of only 12 Liftees that were leftover from Winter lift ops. From what I know if you don’t work on the hill (parks, patrol, lift ops, maintenance, social media, etc.) for Timberline you have to pay like $70 for a pass. That would be you if you decide to be in the kitchen, hotel, retail, tickets, etc. I’m not 100% sure if they still do it that way tho.

The best thing about working Timberline is you get Free Food.. it’s Called Crew Chow you either get a green breakfast or lunch depending on when you work.

I'm sure you could find something.

Ok cool I just saw winter hiring on the website rn, I figured that getting a summer job there would be hard to find but still a fun thing to do.
