Who/what do you respect on the mountain?

For me it's the really old guys who have been motivated enough to keep skiing well on into their eighties or even nineties in some cases.

Also people who shred balls in the park but are always down to teach newbies the basics, always got time for those guys.

So, NSers, who/what do you respect most on the mountain?
 
I respect the POW and lord rainbow rail, i also respect the guys who eat shit and get up and go at it again.
 
No one. I respect no one.

In all honesty though I probably respect those who skin up and work for their turns the most. I don't do that shit cause I'm not in very good shape/ am a huge pussy/novice when it comes to avalanche safety...but i respect the hell out of people who do.
 
I respect all people who just go out and shred, even if they suck as long as their having fun. Also when people give others tips.
 
I love watching old people (70 years +) just killing it cruising around. They also have awesome stories. I also love watching little kids who can rip I think its hilariously awesome to watch a 8 year old kid throw down tracks.

This. Some guy was killing it in the park and he stopped in the middle of his run to pick up one of my skis.
 
Ski patrol cause they saves lives and are generally pretty chill. Fuck the vail resorts mountain safety though, those guys are total dicks

I respect all the lift line managers who work there, and the the people who give tips to worse riders. And anybody just having fun.
 
I have alot of respect for the Park builders/designers/groomers. Not only is it hard work that many of us benefit from, but alot of those guys (at least at my home mountain) take in a ton of feedback and adapt the parks to the input they get from riders. I've seen improvements every year because of this, and it just keeps getting better!
 
resort employees, mostly. Lifty's working on a pow day, mechanics that have to deal with my greenhorn-ass sometimes, patrollers that cart broke off jerries to the meat wagon. the lifeblood of the resort, yo. just shredders working so they can go shred. i can dig it.

anyone who skis like they're driving, i mean fuck slow i ski/drive fast as fuck. (shoulder checking before cutting cross hill, not stopping on blind spots, and not being in the fucking way)

I'll always be thankful and respect ski hill employees, because dealing with the general public is a fuckin nightmare, and I feel for them. I wont be one of the people to ruin their day at work while im shredding.

Those heroes that grab your ski/pole after a bail and bring em down to ya

Those people who say on your right/left when passing on a flat

Those people who move when you say on your right/left
 
people who respect other people. the pros teaching little kids how to slide boxes. guys who ask you if you're all right after you got up. old people still going fast. kinda clichee.
 
n00bs who ski moguls under the lift and eat shit the whole time. they dgaf what everyone on the lift thinks and that's a lot of people watching

also very young children who fucking shred
 
I respect those kids who work hard to get good at shredding, but I fucking hate those kids who are good because their parents bought them the best gear and shipped them off to go to an on mountain boarding school and train for the year. That shit makes me mad

Both of these no doubt. Love to see more experienced riders who both teach youngsters and pay homage to the old heads
 
I respect those who are able to go out and just have a good time and be stoked for everyone. I can't stand the people who try and turn the spotlight on themselves all the time or always try and turn everything into a competition of skill
 
The park crew at my mountain build a dope park, handout candy, have fun like mini comps during the day, maintain the park great, shred and take suggestions, and manage to do it all stoned. So mad fuckin props.

Its all about respecting those who respect you

I love seeing the dad learning to slide rails and having a blast

Old people shredding inspire me

And whoever gives me a ride when i hitchhike up the mountain

I respect younger kids who dont have the nicest gear, and probably only ski a few times a year, really getting after it. Not everyone has the resources to ski 40+ times a year and I love seeing people take advantage of the days they are skiing

The dudes who just keep skiing, sponsors or not. Retirement is for bitches. And the east coasters who don't feel the need to move out west. And west coasters who move east for the skiing.
