Who started bucket hats in park skiing?

That episode is from like 2 or 3 seasons ago, but even so buckets were around before that. I think fisherman probably started that trend.

I think Witt Foster used to wear these big straw, boonie looking hats up at windells a few years ago.

And I'm guessing you are talking about boonies because I fucking hope no one wears actual bucket hats when they're skiing.

Regardless my money is on Witt's goofy hats inspiring people to wear boonies.

first time i saw it, it was either forrest bailey on the glacier summer of 2009 or gooner i think before that in cold world or la familia...

Loads of people actually wear bucket hats while skiing, my home mountain isn't very big and there is about 8 people wearing them daily...

that was my life yesterday. it was pouring snow and winds gusting 30-40mph that night. I actually got blown off a rail haha

Correct. Waaaay farther back dudes. The 1st bucket hat was worn by a black man in the mid 50's. However, they(bu-s-ket hats as it was pronounced) did not enter the skiing scene until the black panther freestyle team introduced them during the 1960 Olympic games at Squaw Valley. They were a hit instantly. White kids have been trying to look thuggish ever since and it continues on an astonishing level even yet today. Steve Stepp was definitely the most influential white dude to rock the bucket hat in the park. Everyone else just looks white...
