You don't need a gun. My neighbors got their home invaded at gun point and they took the invader out with fucking SCISSORS they had to react quickly and one of the housemates stabbed the guy with the gun, shots got fired and no one was hit.
The guy and his accomplice fled the scene with stab wounds and was picked up at the hospital and is looking at a 20 year sentence for discharging a weapon in home invasion.
Guns don't save lives, quick thinking and problem solving saves lives. Sometimes people don't have time to grab a gun and who wants to always be strapped up with a gun on the hip? thats just psychotic.

Be a fucking man and take the guy out without a gun. In close combat guns are useless. Learn some martial arts and man the fuck up. Guns are not needed most people that are aggressive and start shit like a home invasion don't know what the hell they are doing and are easy to take out. I beat my home invader to shit in the living room and sent him on his way and he never came back after that and I am making sure of it.

The robbers gave similar orders to Copeland, but he didn’t comply fast enough for the robbers’ liking. So Delgado fired a .22-caliber bullet into the ceiling as a warning. A fourth roommate upstairs, Daniel Peterson, heard the gunshot and the scuffle. He locked himself in his room and dialed 911.
The robbers loaded things into a duffle bag. As they started to leave, Copeland grabbed a pair of pruning shears and, in a melee, stabbed Delgado in the shoulder, then slashed at Wright. Another resident, Kevin McShane, 21, was pistol-whipped three times in the head as he helped to repel the robbers. Delgado and Wright left a blood trail to the street as they fled.
Police found two duffel bags left behind at the victims’ home. Inside were long zip ties, duct tape and bleach. According to police, Wright would have known there was a small marijuana grow in the house. The men meant to steal cash and cannabis from the home, Chief Criminal Deputy Prosecutor Eric Richey said."

So if I have a guy in my house I shouldn't use a gun to deter him or take him out. I should "man up" and put myself in further danger by making matters hand to hand. That's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.
I don't want to get hurt just as much as I don't want to have to hurt the intruder. But if someone's going to get hurt it's not going to be me.
So using that same logic, should cops "man up" and go about their duty unarmed?

I have had my house invaded and I had to react quick. That means no time to run and get the gun, no time to fuck around. Its shitty but if you give them time to think they will get you. Its a situational thing.
Guns aren't going to save you your head is. Thats whether your holding the gun or not. The one behind the gun is responsible for the actions NOT THE GUN!

At the momment I don't own a gun because I wish to not live with a combat weapon in my house. My home is an establishment of peace and sanctity. I do not want to have to flex behind a gun like some NRA dumb ass. Maybe eventually Ill have one but not now when I live with quite a few people who drink a lot. There baseball bats and other things that can be used if there is an actual problem.

I just think it's bullshit how people say they need an assault rifle to defend their homes. Any urban specialist will tell you a rifle is a horrible idea to use in a close quarters situation, especially if their are other inocents. I have a very nice sog that I keep right where I can reach it under my bed. Because I know if I don't have time to get up and use that I would have time to use a firearm either. The easiest solution is to get security system for your house and nice big deadbolts for your doors and windows. You could get those for the same cost of a nice firearm. I only own one gun. Have never had a need to use it outside the range. Have used my knife much more often.
