Who like SUM 41??????

^^ that was *almost* clever. I used to love Sum41 back in the day. Like, grade 6 or 7. But Does This Look Infected kinda sucked, and so did the next one.

like omg ever since the lead singer and avril like got together theyve become like totally my fav band like everrrr

i dont know, i guess they are kinda gay and mainstream but i can identify with the song modivation and it was one of the only not way overplayed on the radio so i kinda like it.

sum 41 has the suck knob on there amp cranked to ten !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sum 41 really isnt that good though, thier music is kinda infintile and only appeals to kids under 14.

They followed the path that, sadly, many bands do. It goes like so:

You start out as a local band. People who know you love you and people who dont want to.

Then you get a record deal and your still a band that not many people know (example: Streetlight Manifesto) but once again the people who do know you love you, and your getting more attention because you have CD's out and are starting to make enough money to get shows out of state

You start to get big enough where you have shirts in Hot Topic and now you have a visible line of who likes you and who doesnt. You have more shows and are being loved oh so much.

Now you are widley known and are making good money. You have come out with more than 2 CD's and people either love you or hate you. You go on tour. You might end up in the Vans Warped Tour or something. THIS IS WHERE YOU WANT TO STOP! Stop making new songs, and keep playing what people love. Or do what Godsmack did and stay low for a while and make people wonder where you are. Then right when they think your dead come out with something new

If you dont stop you will end up making to much money, getting cocky and thinking you should go in a direction that you should not be in. You start making crappy music and now no one loves you.

And that is the path Sum 41 choose

back in about grade 7 I liked a few songs by sum 41.

I can still listen to that "Pain for pleasure" song haha its alright.

but that was about 6 years ago.

mezmerize got it right. (i was wondering what happend to godsmack)

but i like the first sum 41 album and 2-3 songs from the second, haven't listend to them in a while though.

I can listen to sum 41, they're a band I keep at the back of my cd collection, but still throw it on from time to time

Saw them live in 2000. Wasn't impressed.

The fact Kerry King even associated with that band makes me a little sick and sad inside.

all killer no filler was pretty good, but their best cd was their first release, half hour of power, such a sick cd, had some great punk tunes, so ska stuff, just a really great party cd!

I still kinda like "still waiting." They used to be pretty okay, but then they tried to go all genre chamelion, and sucked.

A well known 'alternative' band can send someone down a path where they keep going deeper and deeper into their chosen genre, finding more interesting music until they realise that the initial band they were in love with, really aren't that good. Bad Religion and NOFX were my personal catalysts, and sent me on a road to looking beneath the surface and appreciating some real underground talent, particularly local talent. Before we hit what we listen to today, I can almost guarantee everyone here liked a 'shitty' band.
