Who Is Tim McChesney?

I still don't get how some big mountain skiers can't respect urban. Some of those gaps were so fucked.
Hell of a segment.
 
Seriously why hasn't this segment been talked about more. Hands down the best performance of last years movies. Don't even wanna hear an argument.
 
It's not rocket science as to why this segment is underrated....it wasn't nearly as seen as others, that's it.

Begging For Change wasn't available digi (legally), which like it or not is how a huuuge % of people are watching ski flicks nowadays. Take me for example. I get on average 5 ski flicks a season. I wanted this movie. I went to 3 different ski shops, including SlopeStyle in Breck, and nobody had it. There wasn't a premiere here in Breck (to my knowledge), and I couldn't tell you where the closest was. So, for the most part, the only people who saw this movie were people at premieres (people don't remember that much in my experience), and those who bought it direct.

I don't know why, but the last couple of seasons it doesn't seem like 4bi9 have really marketed at the same level they used to. That, or other small co.'s have crept up and taken a bit of the market share, I don't know. I know 4bi9 still has a huge presence here, and that their edits and riders get a lot of love, but there doesn't seem to be the same emphasis on their annual flick, in terms of promotion, trailers, etc.

One question proves the point: If this segment had been in Weight, would it have gotten a lot of attention? I think the answer is absolutely yes. All I'm trying to say is that there isn't some anti-Tim conspiracy, no one is denying him anything, he just hasn't been as visible as the other handful of guys listed in this thread as the best in the game. If Tim clocks a full part next year for Level1 at that level, there's no doubt in my mind that it'll be that hyped, everybody loves it, kinda part.

Shit, in another 3-4 years, that BFC seg will get posted in every "Favorite Segment" thread to pop up. It's a fucking fire segment with some of the best urban shots to date, I don't understand the aggro posts in this thread....for a guy who hasn't competed as much as some others or had a full part in a major prod. movie, he's a really well known and respected skier.,
 
Leigh is super ballsy and is definitely in that league, he just does a different thing so it's not really comparable. Also I was saying yesterday it seems like watching Leigh's segments you just come to naturally expect that everything is going to be to flat, even if it looks physically impossible. I'm not 100% clear on how he has any knees.

It's Cam for me.

Wallisch doesn't even count since I assume after watching this year's movies that his stuff is put together in some sort of editing bay by CGI and he doesn't actually exist.

You both forgot Vila who should be mentioned in any shortlist of the top of the game right now. His segment in PBP was worthy.

Comparing Cam, Powis, McChesney, Wessen, LJ, and trying to decide which one is better is wasting time that could be spent enjoying the skiing of any of them. They are all great, and fun to watch. Unwind your panties, the knot is rubbing your twats raw.

 
This is true. Although it's also inevitable, the way movies are set up and the fact that this is a sport that is at least partially competition driven means people will be compared.
 
yeah that was a real sick segment. I saw or bought all of the 4bi9 movies up until begging for change. I just sort of stopped following them as closely but that was clearly a mistake they never lost it. Combining this with his shots in Sunny (which were dope) I'd say its fair to call him an elite 1 percenter in the urban game. BEST is a tough sell for any particular athlete in my opinion though, theyre all dope
 
One of the best urban sections I've seen. Think It's pretty difficult to determine who's the best urban skier is but. Definitely up there with LJ, Vila, Wallisch and Wesson but.
