Who has ridden both 179 and 189 made'n?

i have 179 fujas and they dont seem long enough for pow. i'd really like a 186 or so. how much longer does a 189 ski than a 179. oh and im 6' 75kg(165lbs) but i want this ski to be useable on days that arnt right after a big dump and i want to be able to ski them in tight chutes ect. so i dont want something that only goes straight and doesnt turn.
 
I've skied both.

The 189 is still plenty 'turny' but the 179 is going to be more agile obviously.

I prefer the 189, but I'm 6'3" 190 lbs.
 
im just saying even the length of my 179 fujis seems too small for pow and there apparently really 183. will a 189 be WAY too big for everyday? i realize im in the middle and could go either way.
 
Depends how well you can ski and how big you are. Im 5'11 165 and am a good skier and I wouldnt ski on anything but the 189. Youre going to have to decide for yourself we cant hold your hand on everything.
 
well its just 179 seems a bit small and 189 a bit big. but meh i need to use it everyday so maybe 179 is a better choice. i see vicious used to ski and 179 and didnt find it overly small for everyday.
 
remember that the width of the maden adds a shitload of surface area. it's not going to be comparable to something with the fujitive's width in pow, since 23mm underfoot is a huge difference. if i were you i would get the 179 and mount it at +5. it'll kill everything.
 
are you crazy dude, take a look at your local shop. for me, im like 5'10, and the 189 is a few inches over. for a 6 foot kid, he should be coming around even with the ski. a 179 would be interesting, i havnt skied them, but considering they are soft, they would probably get wierd on a big 6 foot guy.
 
if i had the money, id buy the 189 vicious....buuut i just got 380 for selling my skis, meaning rockets and such. soo add a couple hundered from other stuff, and i got skis with no bindings. its a sucky situation.
 
You guys arent factoring in where his fujis are mounted and where he plans on mounting his maden's. That makes a big difference in this decision
