Im currently in sweden, so if anyone wants to go with you're more than welcome to come

My friends that have been have loved it. Although I'm not sure if this is completely accurate, but in the hot springs it feels like a sandy bottom, but it's actually dead skin sells from everyone who has been in there since there is no water circulation. Could just be a lie.

How long are you going for? In my opinion Reykjavik is kind of boring as a city so I would get out of there as soon as you can. It's worth a day or two to see the sights but beyond that there isn't anything there to do but spend shit loads of money on food and booze. I've only been down south but there are great waterfalls (they are everywhere) and some very cool beaches like Reynisfjara (my favorite spot I went.) The thing to do is just travel around the ring road and stop and see whatever strikes your fancy. Lots of hot springs that are pretty fun to go to.

My recommendations:

Lobster soup at the SeaBaron restaurant.

Gotta try the hot dogs

Otherwise do your own grocery shopping because the food there is insanely expensive.

If you're going to rent a car, check out Sadcars. They are super cheap to rent (like 25 euros/day for the cheapest car) and there isn't a whole bunch of bullshit when renting through them.

Blue Lagoon is nice but touristy and expensive, was still fun.

I'll try to think of more stuff when I'm off work, but that's kind of what I remember.

ah sounds awesome, Ill defiantly write those down. When did you visit? i heard iceland isn't all that expensive anymore. 112isk = 1usd right now. and from what i find online prices of things aren't that bad. like 7 bucks for hamburger and fries. 5 bucks a beer?

I was there a couple of weeks ago :). Street food isn't very expensive, but the one time I had a burger in a restaurant it was 25 bucks (http://roadhouse.is/matsedill). That might just be in Reykjavic though. Anything in the downtown/city center area is going to be absurdly expensive.

I also forgot to mention Thingvellir park. It's pretty cool, but a bit touristy. Gullfoss was pretty sweet, but the Geysir was kind of lame I thought. I'm from Wyoming though, so I have Yellowstone to compare it to. Another sweet waterfall that you should definitely check out is called Gljufurarfoss. It's in this sort of cave like thing that you can go back in and basically be inside the waterfall. It's also close to the volcano that erupted a few years back and messed up all the flights, which is pretty cool to see.

Another note, if you're into that kinda thing, the horse back riding was pretty fun too and you can go up on glaciers with them. It's expensive though...

Go to blue lagoon. I have a friend who works there and it looks amazing. Also, all the girls over there are very attractive. So have fun. Thats all I can tell you. Ive never actually been there.... heh sorry.
