Who else here is way into home stereos?

Ah, I am so pumped I just made a huge purchase a couple of days ago. I have been drooling over a badass Rotel amplifier and finally made the plunge. It retails for a grand and will certainly sound better than my pioneer receiver. Hopefully next year I will be able to have the cash to buy a standalone Rotel processor rather than having my receiver as the pre amp. Next I will probably buy a set of B&W speakers too, which are amazing.

What does everyone else have, and what speakers would you recommend. I currently have a jbl northridge 5.1 setup that I like quite a bit, but after going to hi fi stores and listening to $1,500 - $30,000 pairs of speakers I think I could do a bit better.

Here is the amp I just bought, should be here soon I can't wait. Rotel 1075 125wpc. with 5 channels.

i have a sansui 6060 reciever, a claricon reciever from the 50's as a power amp and 2 marantz imperial speakers and a couple aztec speakers
 
I use my home stereo system for my computer. Its a terrible acoustic place (basement, tile floor, under stairs, 2ft in front, etc.) but I still love it. The whole set up is yamaha 7pc set. I'm more into my car stereo than home. The $300 I've spent on speakers and a deck in my car sound 10x better than the $1500 home theater system. Sometimes if I really want to know what a song sounds like I'll go out to my car and listen.
 
yeah man i know what you mean. stuff sounds totally different in my car. bass hits so much harder cuz its in my doors like 2 inches away from me and it just sounds a little tighter cuz its so enclosed and close. but yeah, now my stereo will be amazing in my apartment. as it was with just the receiver my neighbors 2 floors below could hear the lyrics perfectly to whatever we were playing.... and that was just the high end, so the bass was obviously louder haha. one time they came up cuz they were like "oh i noticed its getting hot in here was on so we came up" haha. im just so pumped to get this thing tho.
 
ahh, my brother has theses speakers that should be in a club, in our basement, along with 2 1000 watt rms subs. i gotta take a picture, its ill. he wants to get into DJ'ing so he baught all this shit and its set up in our basement right now. on the amp rack, there are (i think) 2 850 watt and 1 2450 watt amps.
