Who did the first double?

Not including double front or double back flips.

I've been around for a hot minute and grew up watching skiing what it's become today (late 90's, early 00's). I know Jon got all kinds of credit for the kangaroo flip back in 2006ish, but I'm watching Teddybear Crisis and Mike Wilson definitely throws a double over the halfpipe gap. TBC was released Sept 2006, so probably would have happened sometime in the previous season? Maybe?

Any other doubles I'm missing or forgetting?

(Also, TBC is so good)

This. Rick Wroblewski in the Flying Circus. ~2003.

The Risky Flip was a D-spin 7 to backflip and really a variation of a dub-10.

I kinda hate how Mike Wilson tries to claim it so hard.

risky flip

Mike Wilson did a dub 10 at US Open in like 04/05 and he got scored really low because it was 'too dangerous' lol. Jon Olsson famously went off at that point saying doubles weren't progression and it was just a stunt. I guess it wasn't ok until Jon figured out how to do it.

Pretty sure the Schrab brothers also did like dub 14s in 99 or 2000. More like aerials style but off a non aerials jump

Add in a safety grab and that's a dub 10

And yet you have no clue about the people who were tossing dubs in the late 90's, early 2000's.

Fuck off.

The entire goal of the post was to bring up dubs I missed or forgot. People brought up the risky flip and the Schrab bros, which I had forgotten about. Goal achieved.

Or you're a fucking liar because if you were around at this time, you would have known about this because it was posted multiple times.

Shoot. You got me....

my faith isn't lost in this community for getting it right.

Rick Wroblewski's risky flip is likely the first documented 'newschool' double.

Mike Wilson was earlyish, after he got over his ski blade career!

I think Peter Olenick did the first double in a halfpipe. I'd be interested to know who grabbed the first double cork which in my mind makes it a "newschool" trick, maybe mike wilson?
