White Pass 2011- 2012

HA I've tried doing this the past two years. Pointless, since I'm the only one who gets on NS regularly. TastyZ and Freeskier44 are rarely on. I haven't even been there yet this year and probably won't until next weekend.
 
I try to make it there at least once a year, my family has a small cabin on the rimrock side. I love white pass its super fun.

Haha I'm just used to being basically the only one since I joined ns. Well, if there are a couple of us on regularly, I guess it'll work.

I still haven't been and won't until next weekend when I can get my shit together earlier in the week and register for the oly ski club lodge.

I think I'm going to try to get Casey to post park updates in here throughout the year or something too.
 
Well shit, I am up there about 20+ times a year and have been since I was 3 years old. We should all ride together some time.

Nice setup of 5 rails and 5 boxes up right now. Saw on Facebook that they want to move the park over to Ribeye by the new super slow chair.

What are the best places to stay down there? I've got tons of options in Tacoma, but it's faster to get to Stevens from there.
 
If it's Monday or Tuesday I probably won't be there unless I'm on break. I still have to weekend warrior my skiing since I'm still in high school.

There's obviously the hotel at the pass. Then there are some hotels in Packwood. The Cowlitz River Lodge is decent if you can pay for it. I don't remember the rate exactly. Or you could hit up one of the crappy hotels there like the Motel Packwood. My friend found blood on his mattress there once... I think there may be some lodging on the east side at Rimrock Lake too. Basically, everything is kinda ghetto and a bit hick down there. You could easily sleep in your car in the RV lot too if you wanted.
 
Hookers in Packwood? Damn I have been hanging out in the wrong places I guess. Yes there is lodging on the east side of White Pass. You have Silver beach. Pretty good rates. I wanna say like 65 per night. Dont expect much and you gotta share a bathroom and shower with everyone else.
 
I need to lobby Connor and Casey to string shit together instead of putting up a ton of super short rails. But what they have is fun.

Apparently, they somehow convinced management to let them use the main run under the Basin Quad. The one to skier's right. Connor and Casey said they're planning to set up everything they have this season. The fish hook will be back! With a big hip landing apparently. Connor also said they're planning to set up the rainbow rail as a spine thingy. Good things seem to be happening down there.
 
Who would have thought they would put to parks on White Pass? I haven't rode the basin yet this year. Has anyone on here been out there yet?
 
The park is getting completely moved out there actually. The basin is well, the basin. Same shit as last year. Coverage is sketchy in places but the rollers are good size right now because of it.
 
Oh shit, for some reason i thought they were gonna have two parks. I like the basin. Alot of people bitch that its to flat. I dont think that, if it is to flat for them then they need to ski faster.
 
That doesnt even make sense...But foreal though the basin sucks for the most part. Keeps all the joeys off the good shit though, so I cant complain. Its a sad day when you can no longer ski Mach to Hourglass to the park.
 
Yeah I'll miss that too. But the set up is looking like it'll be good. I'm trying to remember your name. I know I've seen you at timby and wp... Ryan I think?
 
Bump for reminescing on a jump over the mach cat track using the run as a landing and watching Andy Mahre cork 7 the shit out of it into a mogul field. That was like ten years ago though.

Looks like I'll see you guys up there next weekend. Hoping to use the Caylors one of those days and huck Mach 5, maybe tick off that pillow line near Rockslide, and other shenanigans. Haven't hit up a WP pow day yet this year. And I'm thinking the park will be on the move this week as well. I'm in black pants and purple Saga.
 
They're building a decent looking jump line under the chair on the bird runs. Landings need to be bigger but the last deck could be really good. Gonna be a side by side rail and jump line.
 
Last I heard was that they are waiting on parts for the cat and they were thinking it should be done for this weekend.

Yup. Although i cant say i know who you are... Im in tahoe now but ill be at White march 1st thru the 4th. Come say whatsup if you are around. From the pictures i have seen in recent days, I am so stoked for WP. The jumpline looks like something I have never seen before at White. Really hoping this is the beginning of a sick park at White Pass. That being said. All rails under 25' need to disappear and they need to get some real shit that is actually in parks these days. 90% of their current features need to be in the kid park. Blue single barrel is the only rail that i can think of that should stay. Really fucking stoked to come shred in a coupe weeks.
 
I'm Patrick. I think Keith or Jesse mentioned your name. I was one of the only other people doing anything in there last year. I was in the yellow pattern armada jacket and black pants. I've been around Hood in the summers working for MHSSC.

The build turned out kinda weird, but it has so much potential, especially that last jump. They could make it a really good 60ft table or stepover. I guess they're just working up to it or something. Plus there are only maybe ten regulars who could actually hit that. This initial setup was kind of thrown together in a hurry, so it's sorta rough around the edges.
 
haha I havent been up since they made it... busy with senior project stuff. Should be up next weekend!
 
The pow was amazing on Sunday. I am still sore today from it. Prolly one of the best weekends up at White this year. Who is going to be there for winter carnival?
 
i had no clue that there was anyone who skied there besides old people and snowboarders. i always thought i was the lone NSer on the mountain.
 
You should check regionals more often. I'll be back at white at some point. I'll be there for the slopestyle at least.
 
Carnival weekend at White Pass, who is gonna be up there? I will be there. I will be in a red first drop jacket and black first drop pants, rocking the Afterbangs. Come say whats up if you guys see me.
