WHITE MACBOOK VS SILVER MACBOOK

so ive got a white macbook, 120GB. Its great and is amazing performance wise, but i feel like its just not very strong (and my friend has a silver one which feels much more durable for a student like me). so i put up my mac on kijiji, and want to buy a silver one with the money i get from the white (and i know silver ones cost more).
So basically im wondering everyones opinions on looks, durability, overall what do you guys like more? Should i stay with white, or go with silver
 
are you aware that the macbook (white one) is made out of the same stuff that football helmets are made out of?? theyre pretty durable
 
well you didn't tell us the color of your shoes, which is very important in order to color coordinate your laptop with your style.
 
everytime someone tells me that they want a mac and i ask why.. and then they reply "cause they are cute!!"... i just get sooo confused

I love my new macbook, enough to justify the cost? I dunno, but I got it as a gift for college.

It's a lot better than the old macbooks, don't give me that shit about firewire, I don't edit or have much need for the firewire port, and if I was seriously into editing and needed firewire I'd get a macbook pro anyway.

All said and done though I definitely think my macbook is a solid computer though, haven't really had any complaints.
 
ONLY BUY A MAC BOOK PRO IF YOU USE IT FOR IT'S INTENDED USE!!!!!!!!!!!! (art)
you probably only use internet, itunes and maybe iphoto. please, it's an embarrassment for us who actually use our MBPs. stick with your little trendy white box and fuck off.
you should have just spent the money you are trying to spend on an upgrade to a mbp on buying more memory and ram for the mac book you've got.

 
The thing with the pro is if you don't know the difference, you don't need it. This topic just screems you don't need the silver one.

I cringe when I see stupid rich fucks with MbP's and all they ever do is use myspace, AIM, and facebook. I want to take their computer and beat them over the head with it.
 
i bet between my photography, comp setup, and drawing/ painting supplies... not to mention the classes I've taken. we're probably somewhere near even.
 
It pisses me off too. But when I think about it, when I'm using my comp in public, I'm not breaking out anything adobe or final cut related. If a lot of people are around me and I'm on my comp, i'm usually just writing something for school or wasting the 5 minutes until my friends make it to lunch because I got out of class early. I look just like one of these people.So it's really hard to judge unless you see these peoples docks.

but if durability is your only motivation and you don't even know the difference between the two then getting "the silver one" is definitely a waste of money, but some new skis or something instead.
 
when i work with people with cs4 and art whatnots im always workin with windows people and theyre always rippin on mac for no reason, i dont understand it
 
this execpt i have the black macbook. i fucking love this theng, just everything is better than every pc ive ever useed. i will ever buy a pc again.

What if I decide that I really like the idea of having a FW 800 port for ghosting/backing up my drive, and I'd like to make a bootable windows drive using an eSATA interface because you couldn't pay me enough to dual-boot after losing all my info on both OS partitions of a drive once, so I need the expresscard/34 slot to run a Jmicron express/34-to-SATA controller.

And what if...you art purists forbid...I decide I'd like to have a 15" screen.

Well none of that can be done with a standard MacBook.

but then i convinced everyone that its impossible for macs to get viruses. now they are all jealous of OSX's dominance.
 
there wasnt really any need for you or that Marshall guy to be a huge asshole.... im not talking about a macbook pro, im talking about the fucking silver macbook that is just a new version of the white one. sorry for being an embarassment to you and you upperclassmen who all use you macbook for the right reasons and not the wrong ones, but your a fucking prick
 
Dude fuckin MBPs are sick. Macs are just way more reliable that PCs. Much better OS and Mac actually gives you good shit in their comps unlike dell where you need a new video card and extra memory if you want to do anything really sick. If all you do is itunes and look at porn stay with a mac book or just get a shitty PC. MBPs are suposed to be super evironmentally friendly too man
 
i guess i didnt make myself clear enough here....... I DO NOT WANT A MAC BOOK PRO. I AM DEBATING BETWEEN A WHITE MACBOOK, AND A SILVER MACBOOK. THERE IS SUCH THING AS A SILVER non pro MACBOOK
