Sup all.

So me and some friends are gonna be at Whistler Blackcomb in mid January for about a week and a half. Any advice for a group of 6 who’s never been there before? What time should we expect to get in line before they open? Spots of the mountain to avoid or check out? Things to do on an off day? Safety concerns?

I’d recommend the bunny slope for anyone who’s last name ends in Trapscott

In my opinion, Blackcomb over Whis.

but if it’s your first time definitely check out both, peak/ harmony/symphony on Whis are dope for views and have some good zones but lots of tourists/traffic.

blackcombs park is bigger. Whis is more Mellow shit. More trickable

I like Blackcomb on pow days.

check out 7th heaven for views, crystal for tree skiing.

ice caves on Blackcomb glacier are typically open around then too.

Message me if you want some more details. Don’t wanna share all the secret spots for the whole internet.

Shred the week days, take it easy on the weekends (lines suck).

Get a local to take you through khbyers, especially if the freezing level is going all the way to creekside base (but dont go by yourselves, getting lost out of bounds is no joke- I think theres a video of bushfield and jon getting lost out there haha).

There's epic skiing on whis and blackcomb. I know all the zones on whis better so I kinda of prefer it more. Khbyers laps are my favourite thing ever. Also VD and christmas trees.

Worst season start in years, but it will come!

Oh on an off day if you have a vehicle that is capable, check out keyhole hot springs.

Didn't ppl say this about last season? I remember seeing they had banned their employees from skiing opening weekend to save room for tourists

I mean two seasons ago it was DEEEEEEP. Last season was a disappointment but no where near as bad as what is going on up there right now. And you're totally right about employees not being allowed to ride for the first little bit of the season haha, so brutal. I don't believe that was the case this year though.

Idk the stat. November started off slow, then december was a record snow month. So we were sitting pretty comfy in january.

Yeah I was there for the whole month of Jan, definitely a bunch of snow and a few pow days while I was there.

Please hookup a report on conditions. I'll be there in a couple weeks, first timer.

Not sure if there will be much to report the entire PNW from WA to BC has been bone dry this winter.

I know. I'm hoping you say "yeah it's not too bad, they have some shit open, it doesn't totally suck." Or something to that effect.
