Whistler Trip

Heading to Whistler for the first time on Monday. Will be staying in the village. Any good bars to be sure to hit? Runs/areas to be sure to ski? Any other tips?

Probably shouldn't be giving out local secrets, but the trees on fitzsimmons are a must. Also make sure to hit up olympic chair, can't really go wrong with anything off there either. Also skip the bars and just go to mcdicks, that's the joint.

Sorry bud, there just seems to be these threads about whis every other week, its hard not to.

But in all honesty, every night there is a different bar to hit up. Weekends are less fun, more of the city-type folks (no hate I live in Van now too). Garfs on skate night used to be a good time. If you want beers, Longhorns is fine, and then get some drunken poutine at zogs. Splitz has wicked burgers. If the weather is shit, Bounce is about the coolest trampoline place in BC. And if you have scrill you could probably bungee jump.

I terms of runs, no one can be too specific on the internet, as its weather dependent and Whistler is massive. Plus, no true ski bum gives up their specific spot. I can tell you the 'new' Chrystal Chair is a good time on pow days and so is the peak. Spanky's generally has nice soft snow but on a pow day, every yahoo with their semi-fatties and grandma lines up for it. Otherwise, you must use your nose and follow the wind like all the other pow hounds in whis. (Just don't be stupid and go somewhere unsafe).
