hey i just got offered a job as an instructor for whistler kids , any one who has worked there before wanna give me a run down on what its like living in whistler for the season , im from ontario never been out west to ski . curious about night life and what its like to teach there compared to ontario

work all the time, party when you're free, food is expensive as fuck, girls are sluts, ski/board when you aren't working, and sleeping is like winning the lottery

the nightlife is great though, whistler is its own little 'bubble', sorta like vegas. "what happens in whistler stays in whistler" sorta deal

your 1st year instructing, prepare for babysitting a bunch of shithead 8 year old kids and skiing groomers all day

and even though some of that may sound terrible,

you'll probably end up NEVER LEAVING

just like EVERYONE that comes, thinking they'll only stay for 1 season.

the lifestyle is uncomparable to any other, and can be quite addicting. Everyone in whistler is there for 1 reason, and 1 reason only, to have as much fucking fun as possible, as much as they can without dying of starvation and sleep deprevation

its essentially like a college dorm, but instead of studying its partying. the buildings are old and filled with young partiers so you can probably imagine its not the cleanest, and is usually always noisy, which makes sleep hard to do, especily if your work shifts are different then other people

dont be an instructor its the worst job in town unless you really really like skiing groomers on pow days and getting up at 6 am to stand at the bottom of the mountain while your friends get to sleep in and go shred

get a restaurant job or something that will give you flexible shifts and mostly evenings so you can ski and party
