Its August...

Yea no shit, I'm trying to plan a trip for next may. It takes time to save money, plan the trip, and get time off work. I'm just asking for a general impression of how Whistler's parks are on an average year in the spring

You consider timberline?

I've been to timberline every spring for like the last 4 years, finally summited and I'm looking to mix it up and try something different. Maybe make it a road trip through the pacific northwest, including timberline. I think the all mountain skiing will be way better at whistler and I'm just wondering what the park is like.

I've been to Whistler's park in May three times over the last 10 years or so. Once it was on Whistler, the other two times it was on Blackcomb. Blackcomb has a better park set up with a park chair and big jumps. Whistler was just a small set up off the t-bar, but was pretty cool since you could ski some pretty gnarly steeps down to it. Overall, I'd say Timberline has a better set up in May for park. It also depends on how much snow Whistler has gotten, one year the park on Blackcomb went almost down to the bottom of the quad lift (not the park lift), while the other year you could only ski the park lift because the rest was completely melted out.

I haven't been since Vail bought them out, so I don't know how that's changed things.

Its amazing in May, spring skiing is prime but youll get a lot of cloudy/wet days

edit: oh shit, i totally talked to you at timberline this year, you were the lucien guy with the sick name

Usually Blackcomb will be open later than Whistler. Both have really fun spring set ups, there is also lots of cool natural features that form out on both mountains in the spring. Also bing able to go right to the lake after is a pretty awesome way to end the day!
