Stoked, still haven't picked up my damn pass yet though. Debating driving up sometime in the week to pick it up

I'm not stoked at all because I still have a week of school work to power through until I can get up. 28th, then I will be stoked. For everyone else, SHRED!!

Haha don't worry, you're not the only one stoked. I'm also curious to see how smoothly the RFID works. Tomorrow morning might be a shitshow.

Hopefully not, because I still need to pick up my pass

The whole RFID things pisses me off though, before I could scan once when uploading the put my pass away for the rest of the day, now I need to keep the pass, which I'm not allowed to hole punch accessible the whole day

it actually wasn't too bad. I have a pocket sort of on my wrist which for me made it easy and it tended to go decently quick for most people it seemed

You literally need to put it in any pocket on your left side and you never have to take it out?

Were you up there, because it didn't work this smoothly at all, people were getting stuck at the gate all the time. Not to mention I would way rather carry my pass on a lanyard around my neck, then inside a pocket.

I only had issues at the initial gate because I knew I couldn't have my phone in the pocket with the pass but didn't realize having anything else in there was also a no-no (which really should have been mentioned on the info sheet, they really did make it seem like the phone was all I had to worry about). Once I moved my keys and ID it read quickly every time.

Meh it wasn't that bad. It worked for me most of the day. Except for when I accidentally put it in my wallet. And even that worked after a few tries.

Ya I was up there. Had my pass in a wrist pocket, worked perfectly every time. Switched it to the pants pocket to experiment, still worked great. I think having it with your phone screws with it though. Also yeah I get what you're saying on the lanyard front, dunno what to say about that, kinda crappy i guess.

Also they must have been loosing a hell of a lot of money from of people sharing passes to employee two doofuses with ipads on every lift to watch over everyone. I don't know if that's going to continue to be a thing or not though.

the whole point is to stop people from getting up without a pass. its kindof ironic that now it opens up the new opportunity of just sharing a pass

I'm aware of why they adopted the system, I was just saying think about how much it costs to have two guys manning Ipads at every lift....

You can't really share the pass when your photo comes up on the Ipad and a camera is pointed at the rfid gates. Balacalva trick only works so well

Meh, not really, they now require you scan at every lift not just the main gondola

And to clarify, I also had no problems with the pass, just hip tap the gate and it let me through. Lots of people did have trouble though, and mid winter when whistler is full of tourists and 3 day a year skiers, plenty of people will keep having trouble. Picture harmony as well, with 6 seats, I bet every other chair has someone encountering trouble passing through the gate

i haven't been up yet so i didn't quite understand everything said before but thanks for clarifying and thanks for the tips, it sounds like in the busy season coming up they may need people instructing tourists how to use them in he line
