I am going to whistler next week, and i dont have anyone to ski with. im there from sunday, the 13th til sunday the 20th. is anyone else going to be up there?

Whistler didn't shut down - it just sucks really badly today. It's raining up to the restaurants and above that it's too windy to open the lifts - plus the avie danger is super high. Tomorrow should be better but the snow is super heavy.

We got really spoiled in December, I guess now we're just making up for it.

 
Lol, I was afraid to go in Dec cuz I didnt think there would be enough snow, but we got pow every day (tho the peak and harmony chair never opened). I originally wanted to go in Jan about now and what do ya know its rainy.

yep im going there and will be skiing 18th 19th 20th and 21st. hopefully it doesnt rain

does whistlers park cost money? i want to go into the backcountry, because i heard from my friend that it is really sweet, does anyone know where i can get a guide to take me back there or something?

 
A guide? That would be cool. I thik all the cool shit is up on peak chair and harmony chair. One day I followed some locals to some cool place, reguired some hiking but it was fucking sweet.

yeah it costs 15 bucks and you have to have a helemt, thats on blackcomb. the best skiing as far as pure skiing goes is on whistler at peak chair. The avalanche danger is high right now and the snow heavy, backcountry sucks right now.

 
The snow was good today but still a little heavy. I managed somehow to grab one of the first few chairs on Harmony and most of it was pretty deep considering the recent weather. Back in Symphony, Flute, Piccolo and Oboe didn't look too bad - it's just the avalanche danger is pretty high at the moment

 
It was absolute shit on blackcomb today, some of the iciest skiing I've ever done and I've lived in ontario and competed in quebec most of my ski career. The pipe was under vert and over vert in spots and the landings of the tables, don't even get me started. FOCK!

 
Yeah, Blackcomb was shit but we switched to Whistler at around 11 and it was so much better.

 
thanks, shitty weather... this winter sucks, i was up on thanks giving, and got some really nice pow, but now its all going away. anyone know when the weather is sapposed to get better?
