Whistler/mammoth?

I am planning in october of 2007 to move out to whistler, or mammoth. I was wondering for a 19 year old (that's how old I will be), which resort is better to work at, in terms of: nightlife, alcohol, skiing, just fun in general, and of course skiing? any advice?
 
Also I have never really skied powder, and just wanted a lot of powder for the year I go. I have lived in maine for most of my skiing career, so which mountain has the better chance of more snow?
 
well the fact that your 19 should solve your question right there, Whistler.

The legal age in Whistler is 19. So you could drink anywhere you want. Mammoth is an awesome mountain, don't get me wrong, but Whistler is bigger, has a great park, has a way better nightlife, and lots of out of bounds shit. I tried to move there but they wouldn't let my friend across the boarder, so we moved to Jackson Hole, best desision ever!!
 
thats probably the sickest thing to do move from maine to a huge resort, i would be stoked even if it was a year away, thats a hard desision whistler or mammoth, whistler has a lot of girls partying but i wouldnt know about mammoth, maybe think about park city too
 
I've found Whistler to be a bit of a sausage fest since I've been here. I think the ratio is about 1 girl to 5 boys. Ski resorts are not the place to pick up girls
 
You should go to Whistler for a few reasons:

First, if you want to drink, Whistler is the only place to do it without having to fear getting an MIP (minor in possession). Secondly, the nightlife in Mammoth is not great at best. I lived there all last season, right in town, and believe me, it kinda sucks. There are a few bars, but overall Whistler kicks Mammoth's butt in terms of night life at any time of year (I am within driving distance to whistler, so i know both places). BUT, the biggest reason that you should move to Whistler for next winter is LA NINA!! This next winter is supposed to be a La Nina winter. Let me recap a recent La Nina for the northwest and canada: WORLD RECORD SNOWFALL. One word: Baker. Baker is situated right near the Canadian border and the last time a La Nina cam ethrough they got over 110 feet or so of snow. On the otehr hand, California sucks for La nina. They have a much drier winter as well as warmer. They got much less snow than normal.

In conclusion, you should definitely go to WHistler!!!
