Hey everyone.

Im im currently writing an article on whistler's plans to try and prevent further recession of the hortsman glacier. I have interviewed the guy in charge of the project and I'm heading up to get some shots of the new guns bein installed but although I have ridden the glacier on an off since 2003 I do not have any photos from before this season.

Does one anyone have any images from the glacier in the past? Any age would be good as if I can find enough over the years hopefully it will show how the recession has taken place.

If you have any and you don't mind them potentially bein use I the article either post them up or message me directly.

Cheers

Research any of the old High North Ski Camp session updates or Park Updates, NS was there for a super long time. If photos are broken, I have huge archives of High north photos somewhere on a server over here.

Look at this, exactly where momentum's new lane is -

Yeah I going to look at all the summer camp photos. Crazy seein the snow in that vid it really shows how much it's changed and how quickly. He was saying it wa the last 6-7 years whic have really effected the glacier. Was that you doing the zero?

he had some super interesting info and it could potentially turn out to be awesome for summers up here

Yep. :)

I have a lot of 2001-2007, but probably looking up camp updates from Momentum from 2008-present might give you good stuff. COC has been consistent too, and especially in the park updates there should be a lot, I forget how long those ran for.

You could also use screen grabs from session updates.

Actually, I'm an idiot - want me to put you directly in touch with the camp directors and see if they can authorize photos? They should have solid archives.

see if you can speak to ski patrol, they had a few photos from around the mountains over the last couple of decades. im sure there would be a few of the glacier

Email me on this one and we'll see what we can do.

Thanks on the Zero. That, the Shifty 180 and the Shifty 5 were basically my favorite tricks for a long time.

Bringin this thread back with a new question.

What ski camps were operating in around 2000 on the glacier?

i have found a few good shots including one of a person you will all recognize but I want to see if I can find any more.

Smart mogul (momentum) was on the skiers right of the tbar, then World mogul (Cooper Schell's camp was on the left. Then Olympia mogul, then maybe a race camp, and sometime around that time High North set up over on the far left. Lower down was Dave Murray and COC? They had a half pipe down on the skiers right below the upper tbar for a few years too, but not sure who that was hooked with. So much snow most of those years you could ski down couloir extreme (Sudans) to the top of Solar Coaster at the end of the day.
